Marcos Mateo
Marcos Aurelio Mateo Lora (born April 18, 1984) is a Dominican right-handed former professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Hanshin Tigers. Playing career Cincinnati Reds In 2004, Mateo was signed as an amateur free agent by the Cincinnati Reds. Upon joining the Reds, Mateo joined their Rookie level minor league affiliate, the Gulf Coast League (GCL) Reds. In one season with the GCL Reds, he pitched in 13 games, had a 4–3 win–loss record, a 4.30 Earned Run Average (ERA), and a 1.46 WHIP. For the 2006 season, he joined the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League where in 18 games, he went 5–1 with a 4.30 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. Peoria Chiefs
The Peoria Chiefs are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The team was established in 1983 as the Peoria Suns. They are located in Peoria, Illinois, and are named for the Peoria Indian tribe for which the city was named. Buck Coats
Buck Coats (born June 9, 1982) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder. Career Coats was drafted in the 18th round (523rd overall) of the 2000 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs. Coats made his Major League debut for the Cubs on August 22, 2006, against the Philadelphia Phillies. After the 2006 season, he finished batting .167 with one home run and one RBI. Coats was then traded to the Reds for a player to be named later. Buck finished hitting .206 and two RBIs, a personal best. The Reds then dealt him to the Toronto Blue Jays for right-handed pitcher Justin James. Coats only played eight games for the Toronto Blue Jays before being sent back down to the minors. In Major League Baseball, a player to be named later (PTBNL) is an unnamed player involved in exchange or "trade" of players between teams. The terms of a trade are not finalized until a later date, most often following the conclusion of the season. Postponing a trade's final conditions or terms is often done for several reasons. First, the team receiving the PTBNL might not be certain which position they want to fill, so this type of deal gives them more time to figure it out. Second, this type of arrangement gives the team receiving the PTBNL more time to evaluate the available talent on the other team. Also, when a trade takes place during August, a player must clear waivers before he can be traded; the PTBNL concept allows the player's original team to make an attempt to have him clear waivers then finalize the deal, or (if the player cannot clear waivers) wait until the end of the season to trade him. Dayton Dragons
The Dayton Dragons are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. They are located in Dayton, Ohio, and play their home games at Day Air Ballpark, formerly known as Fifth Third Field. In 2011, they broke the record for most consecutive sellouts by a professional sports team, selling out their 815th consecutive game, breaking the record formerly held by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pioneer League is an independent baseball league that operates in the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. Its teams are not directly affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB). It is designated as an MLB Partner League. From 1939 to 2020, the Pioneer League was affiliated with Minor League Baseball and its teams were affiliated with MLB teams.
