Marco Zullo
Marco Zullo (born 29 October 1978 in Verona) is an Italian politician who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since 2014. He was re-elected in 2019 European Parliament election in Italy, 2019. From 2014 to 2021, he was part of the Five Star Movement. Education and early career Zullo holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electronic engineering from University of Padua. From 2012 to 2014, he worked as product manager for Hager Group in Porcia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Porcia. Political career In parliament, Zullo has been serving on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (since 2015) and the European Parliament Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (since 2019). Five Star Movement
The Five Star Movement ( it, Movimento 5 Stelle , M5S) is a political party in Italy. Its leader and president is Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy from 2018 until 2021. The M5S was founded on 4 October 2009 by Beppe Grillo, a comedian and blogger, and Gianroberto Casaleggio, a web strategist. From 2014 to 2017, it was a member of the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group in the European Parliament, along with the UK Independence Party and minor Eurosceptic parties. In January 2017, M5S members voted in favour of Grillo's proposal to join the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Group but the party was eventually refused, and has since sat as Non-Inscrits in the European Parliament. European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Together with the Council of the European Union (known as the Council and informally as the Council of Ministers), it adopts European legislation, following a proposal by the European Commission. It represents the second-largest democratic electorate in the world (after the Parliament of India), with an electorate of 375 million eligible voters in 2009.
