Marco Rossi (born 1 April 1978) is a retired Italian footballer who played as a right midfielder. He played most of his 18-year professional career with Genoa, appearing in nearly 300 official games during nine seasons, six spent in Serie A. Club career Early years Born in Seravezza, in the Province of Lucca, Rossi started playing football with Lucchese in Serie B, moving for the 1998–99 campaign to Salernitana, newly promoted to Serie A. After two seasons he joined A.C. Fiorentina (for 17 billion lire; €8.78 million in cash plus player deal) and returned to the top division, remaining in Florence for two years. In 2002 Rossi left Fiorentina due to unpaid wages (the club declared bankruptcy shortly after) and signed with modest Como, appearing sparingly in his first season and being relegated from the top flight. Seravezza is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Lucca, in northern Tuscany, Italy. It is located in Versilia, close to the Apuan Alps. The Derby della Lanterna, Italian for the "Derby of the Lantern", is Genoa's local derby, played by Genoa C.F.C and U.C. Sampdoria. Reggina 1914 S.r.l., commonly referred to as Reggina, is an Italian football club based in Reggio Calabria. Gian Piero Gasperini (born 26 January 1958) is an Italian football manager and former player, who is currently the manager of Italian side Atalanta. Playing career Gasperini entered the Juventus youth system at the age of 9; during his stay at the youth system, he won an ''Allievi Nazionali'' championship and was in the ''Primavera'' squad, which included Paolo Rossi and Sergio Brio, that placed runner-up in 1976 behind Lazio. The 2006–07 Serie B season is the 75th season since its establishment in 1929. It started on 9 September 2006 and ended on 10 June 2007. The 22 clubs in Serie B each played 42 matches during the regular season.
