Marco Papa
Marco Papa (16 March 1958 in Perugia, Umbria, Italy, – 9 September 1999 near Adro Italy) was a Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. His most successful year was in 1990 when he finished in 13th place in the 500cc world championship aboard a Moto Club Perugia sponsored Honda NS500. Papa perished in a road accident in September 1999. A Turn was dedicated to him at Magione circuit near Perugia. The 1981 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 33rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary In the 500cc world championship, two Suzuki teams fought for the title with Marco Lucchinelli riding for Roberto Gallina's Italian Suzuki team and, Randy Mamola riding for the Heron Suzuki team backed by the UK Suzuki importer. Mamola started the season strongly with two victories and two second-place finishes to take the lead in the championship but then, Lucchinelli took command with four victories in the next five races to claim the world championship. Mamola finished in second place for the second year in a row. Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling event that was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Before 1993, the race was known as the Czechoslovak motorcycle Grand Prix. Since 1965, the race was a part of world Grand Prix series (between 1982 and 1987 race was held as a part of European Grand Prix series only). Since 1987 the race was held on the newly built Brno Circuit, the historical track led through the streets of western parts of Brno and neighboring villages, such as Bosonohy and Žebětín. It was the most prestigious motor race in the country. Brno has also held the most motorcycle championship rounds in the sport's history after the TT Circuit Assen. The race was not included in the calendar after Brno city councillors announced that they would opt out for the season, citing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 1980 Belgian motorcycle Grand Prix was the sixth round of the 1980 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 4–6 July 1980 at the Circuit Zolder. This was the only time that a race was held in Zolder, after all the factory teams (with drivers such as Kenny Roberts, Franco Uncini, Graziano Rossi, Jack Middelburg and various others) retired due to the slippery and very dangerous conditions at Spa-Francorchamps after a resurfacing of the track.
