Marcin Nowak (speedway Rider)
Marcin Nowak (born 18 August 1995) is a Polish speedway rider. He currently rides in the second tier of British Speedway, for the Glasgow Tigers in the SGB Championship. Speedway career Nowak rode in his native Poland for Grudziądz from 2016 to 2017. In 2021, Nowak signed his first British team contract when he joined the Glasgow Tigers for the SGB Championship 2021. In 2022, he rode for Lodz in Poland and Piraterna in Sweden. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). SGB Championship 2023
The 2023 SGB Cab Direct Championship season will be the 76th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Championship. The British Speedway Network (BSN) would stream 35 matches live for the second year running. Summary Nine clubs will compete in the Championship in 2023, with Edinburgh Monarchs remaining in the league despite problems surrounding their home venue. The only change to the league is Leicester Lions, who left for the higher league of the SGB Premiership 2023. The league format will be the same as in 2022, with each team racing against each other twice (home and away), meaning a total of 16 fixtures each during the season. The points system has been revamped and simplified, with teams scoring two points for a win (home or away), with a bonus point scored for an aggregate win. 2022 Speedway European Championship
The 2022 Speedway European Championship season was the 10th season of the Speedway European Championship (SEC) era, and the 22nd UEM Individual Speedway European Championship. It was the ninth series under the promotion of One Sport Lts. of Poland. Mikkel Michelsen was the defending champion having won the title in 2021. The title was won by Denmark's Leon Madsen after he overtook former series leader Janusz Kołodziej in the final round to win by just one point. It was the second time Madsen won the title after claiming the championship in 2018. Qualification For the 2022 season, 15 permanent riders were joined at each SEC Final by one wildcard and two track reserves. SGB Championship 2021
The SGB Championship 2021 was the second tier division, called the SGB Championship, of the British speedway championship in 2021. Changes from the last edition of the Championship (held in 2019) were the addition of three teams and the loss of two teams. The 2019 Premiership club Poole Pirates, were the biggest profile club to join the league after dropping down from the highest league. Also the Kent Kings and Plymouth Gladiators both joined the league from the National Development League. Sheffield Tigers left the league to move up to the highest division and Somerset Rebels withdrew from the league altogether. The league started on 21 May with twelve teams participating and race meetings were covered by Eurosport.
