Marcin Białobłocki
Marcin Białobłocki (born 2 September 1983) is a Polish cyclist, who competed for primarily British teams professionally between 2011 and 2017. Career British domestic teams He rejoined the Velosure team for the 2014 season, after his previous team – – folded at the end of the 2013 season. In December 2014 he was announced as part of the inaugural squad for the team for the 2015 season. He took part in the 2015 Tour de Pologne as a member of the Polish national team, where he won the race's final stage time trial. Białobłocki became a well known name in the UK time trialling community riding for when he took the 10 mile competition record from Alex Dowsett, with 16:36; making him the first rider to break 17 minutes. He then went on to take Dowsett's 25 mile competition record with a time of 44:04. This time was later improved on in 2018 when Białobłocki did a ride of 42:58 on the R25/3H course in Wales. An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. The Shropshire Star Newport Nocturne is Britain's first flood lit road bicycle race and is biennially held in Newport, Shropshire. The race was first run in 1970 at a distance of . The race was first run as a night race under flood lights in 1989 and returned in 1990 and 1991 in this format. The economic recession of the early 1990s forced the event to be cancelled in 1992. The race was brought back in 2001 at the request of the town council. Following the 2001 race, the Shropshire Star newspaper became title sponsor of the race. Tour Series
The Tour Series is an annual series of cycling criterium races held in the United Kingdom since 2009. It is televised by ITV4 in the UK. The competition emphasises team effort with individual wins deemed less important. The races are held over 1 hour of racing plus 5 laps. The team standings for each round are calculated by adding together the positions of the top three riders of each team (5 riders start for each team) and the team with the lowest score wins, and get 10 points for the overall championship. Each team gets 1 point less than the one in front of them, so second gets 9, third gets 8, and so on. In addition, there is the sprint competition. There are three sprints every race, and the top five riders are awarded points based on place: 1st, 5; 2nd, 4; 3rd, 3; 4th, 2 and 5th, 1. Rutland–Melton CiCLE Classic
The Rutland–Melton International CiCLE Classic is a road bicycle race that starts in Oakham and finishes in Melton Mowbray. The 2008 version was 158 km long.
