Marcela Lucatelli
Marcela Lucatelli (born 13 April 1988) is a Brazilian composer, director, vocalist and performance artist. Biography Lucatelli was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in a family of Italian origins. She studied composition at the Danish National Academy of Music, the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Danish National School of Performing Arts. She is known for writing "scores for the limits of bodies and voice". Her works have been performed by vocal groups such as the Danish National Vocal Ensemble and Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, together with ensembles such as Apartment House, Bastard Assignments and Mocrep. Composer
A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and Definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together". The earliest use of the term in a musical context given by the ''Oxford English Dictionary'' is from Thomas Morley's 1597 ''A Plain and Easy Introduction to Practical Music'', where he says "Some wil be good descanters ..and yet wil be but bad composers". Harpa (concert Hall)
Harpa () is a concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavík, Iceland. The opening concert was held on May 4, 2011. The building features a distinctive colored glass facade inspired by the basalt landscape of Iceland. History Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish- Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours. The building was originally part of a redevelopment of the Austurhöfn area dubbed World Trade Center Reykjavík, which was temporarily abandoned when the 2008 Icelandic financial crisis took hold. The development was originally intended to include a 400-room hotel, luxury apartments, retail units, restaurants, a car park and the new headquarters of Icelandic bank Landsbanki. A ''Gesamtkunstwerk'' (, literally 'total artwork', translated as 'total work of art', 'ideal work of art', 'universal artwork', 'synthesis of the arts', 'comprehensive artwork', or 'all-embracing art form') is a work of art that makes use of all or many art forms or strives to do so. The term is a German loanword accepted in English as a term in aesthetics. Background The term was developed by the German writer and philosopher K. F. E. Trahndorff in his 1827 essay ''Ästhetik oder Lehre von Weltanschauung und Kunst'' (or 'Aesthetics, or Theory of Philosophy of Art'). BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. DR P2 – in Denmark normally referred to as simply P2 – is a Danish radio station operated by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. It specializes in classical music, both recorded and in live performance, as well as reporting on and providing discussion of the classical music scene. Since 1991 P2 has organized a chamber music competition for promising young musicians, held every 2 years. History On 1 October 1951 the then ''Statsradiofonien'' launched their second radio station, called ''Program 2''. In 1959 Statsradiofonien changed its name to Danmarks Radio, and to DR in 1996. The Henie Onstad Kunstsenter is an art museum located at Høvikodden in Bærum municipality in Viken county, Norway. It is situated on a headland jutting into the Oslofjord, approximately southwest of Oslo. History The artcentre was founded in 1968 by World and Olympic champion figure skater Sonja Henie (1912–1969) and her husband, shipping magnate and art collector Niels Onstad (1909–1978). Their private collection of contemporary art, total 110 images, as well as funds for construction and operation of the centre was donated by the couple in 1961, when the Sonja Henie and Niels Onstad Foundation was created. WOMEX
WOMEX (short for Worldwide Music Expo) is an international world music support and development project based in Berlin, whose main event is an exposition held annually in different locations throughout Europe. It integrates a trade fair, showcases, conferences, film screenings, networking sessions, and awards. Musicians and their labels have the possibility to make contacts for international touring and album distribution.
