Marcel Dettmann
Marcel Dettmann (born 26 October 1977) is a German DJ, producer, and record label owner whom commentators have called "one of the most influential proponents of contemporary techno." Dettmann is a resident at the well-known Berlin nightclub Berghain. He used to work at Berlin's legendary record store Hard Wax (between 2002 and 2012). In addition to being a highly prolific producer Dettmann also tours extensively DJing at clubs and electronic music festivals throughout Europe. He owns the label MDR (Marcel Dettmann Records). Moderat is a German electronic music supergroup originating in Berlin between Sascha Ring, also known as Apparat, and Modeselektor members Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. The band have released four studio albums to date, their most recent being ''More D4ta'', released on May 13, 2022. The group was voted "The #1 Live Act of the Year" in 2009 by the readers of ''Resident Advisor''. Modeselektor is a German electronic music duo consisting of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. History The group members met in 1992 in Berlin with group member Szary performing live acid house music at illegal underground parties, under the moniker Fundamental Knowledge. The group says, "After the Wall came down, everywhere in Germany and especially East Germany there was a lot of chaos, anarchy." Len Faki
Glen Faki, also known by his stage name Len Faki, is a Turkish-German DJ and producer based in Berlin. Faki is of Turkish descent and is also known under the pseudonym Lamonde. He has appeared as a DJ in clubs such as Ostgut in Berlin, Tresor in Berlin and U60311 in Frankfurt as well as at festivals such as Nature One, SonneMondSterne, Woohah and Alive in Belgium. Ellen Allien
Ellen Fraatz, known professionally as Ellen Allien, is a German electronic musician, music producer, and the founder of BPitch Control music label. Her album ''Stadtkind'' was dedicated to the city of Berlin, and she cites the culture of reunified Berlin as one of the main inspirations for her music. She sings in both German and English. Her music is best described as a blend of IDM and Techno music, which is dance-floor oriented and has noticeable experimental elements. She lives in Berlin and calls it the "best city in the world." Ema Jolly (born 8 January 1986), better known by her stage name Emika, is an English electronic musician of Czech origin (her mother is from Příbram) currently residing in Berlin. Her self-titled debut album was released in October 2011 via Ninja Tune and received generally positive reviews. Biography Emika, a classically trained musician who studied classical piano and composition, grew up in Milton Keynes, England. She started to make music at school (using an old sequencer program she found on a computer stashed in a cupboard) and waitressed to save up for her first Apple Mac and copy of Logic Studio.
