Marc Wuyts
Marc Wuyts (born 12 September 1967) is a Belgian former football player and coach who is currently youth coordinator at Union SG. Wuyts started his career with Anderlecht where he joined the first team at 19 years of age, playing alongside Luc Nilis and Franky Vercauteren. His first match came against Bayern Munich in the 1986–87 European Cup when he was subbed in after 58 minutes to replace Pier Janssen. Later that season he also played a few minutes in a league match. The season thereafter was supposed to be his breakthrough, however he did not play a single minute. He remained with Anderlecht however and received more playing opportunities in his third season, starting 5 times and coming on from the bench 11 times. That season he also scored his first and only goal for the team. Following that season he moved to KRC Mechelen for the 1989-1990 season where he became part of the standard lineup and scored 5 goals. 1986–87 European Cup
The 1986–87 season was the 32nd season of the European Cup, Europe's premier club football competition. The tournament was won by Porto, who came from behind in the final against Bayern Munich to give a Portuguese club its first title since 1962. Steaua București, the defending champions, were eliminated by Anderlecht in the second round, having received a bye to reach that stage of the tournament due to the absence of the English champions (Liverpool), as the ban on English clubs in European competitions was now in its second season. Oud-Heverlee Leuven Managers
Oud-Heverlee () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the villages of ''Blanden'', ''Haasrode'', ''Oud-Heverlee proper'', ''Sint-Joris-Weert'' and ''Vaalbeek''. Belgian Second Division
The Belgian Second Division (known as the Proximus League for sponsorship reasons) was the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Pro League. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B. History The second division was created in 1909 and was known as the Promotion nl, bevordering at the time. From 1923 on there were two leagues in that division (called Promotion A and Promotion B). In 1926, the system changed, with only one league of 14 clubs at the second-highest level now called Division I. At the end of the 1930–31 season, Division I was split into two leagues again (of 14 clubs each). Belgian Fourth Division
The Belgian Fourth Division was the lowest nationwide division in Belgian football. The division was split into four separate leagues, A, B, C and D. The team with the most points in the four leagues together was declared the overall winner. If several league winners had the same number of points, the one with the most wins was declared champion, or if that was still tied, then the one with the best goal average was declared champion. Finally, if two teams were still equal, a single match was played on a neutral ground to determine the team to be added to the palmares. For 2016–17 the Belgian Fourth Division was replaced by the Belgian Third Amateur Division. Robert Waseige
Robert Waseige (26 August 1939 – 17 July 2019) was a Belgian football manager and player. Career While managing R.F.C. de Liège he helped them win the 1989–90 Belgian Cup. He became the coach of Belgium before Euro 2000 and led Belgium to the second round at the 2002 World Cup. He then left the national team, having signed a contract with Standard Liège prior to the 2002 World Cup tournament. After a deceiving start in the Belgian First Division he was fired by the club and replaced by caretaker manager Dominique D'Onofrio. He later managed Algeria. Waseige also managed several other clubs: Winterslag, FC Liège, Lokeren, Charleroi, FC Brussels and Sporting CP in Portugal. As a player, he wore the shirts of FC Liège, RW Brussels and Winterslag. He was for some time a consultant for BeTV, a Belgian private TV channel. He died in a hospital in Liège on 17 July 2019. He was suffering from heart and kidney problems. Georges Heylens
Georges Heylens (born 8 August 1941 in Etterbeek) is a Belgian former footballer. He played with R.S.C. Anderlecht and the Belgium national football team. He took part in the match between Belgium and the Netherlands in 1964, with 10 teammates from the Anderlecht team, after the substitution of goalkeeper Delhasse by Jean-Marie Trappeniers. As an attacking right-back played in all three games at the Mexico World Cup at which time he reached his 50th International appearance. He now appears as a football consultant in papers or on TV. Pieter "Pier" Janssen (born 9 September 1956), also referred to as Pierre or Piet, is a Belgian former footballer and manager who played as a midfielder and made three appearances for the Belgium national team.
