Marc Weigert
Marc Weigert (born June 3, 1970) is a film producer and film/TV visual effects supervisor and 2nd unit director. Early career Weigert was born in Bad Harzburg, Germany. While at Christian-von-Dohm-Gymnasium, a grammar school in Goslar, Germany, he developed an interest in filmmaking. He moved on to study directing and producing from 1991 to 1994 at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. There he met Volker Engel, who would later win the Academy Award for the visual effects of ''Independence Day'' and become Weigert's business partner in the production company Uncharted Territory, LLC. During his studies, Weigert was the visual effects producer for Volker Engel on the television film ''Der Letzte Kosmonaut'', directed by Nico Hofmann. The film won the "Prix Futura". A film producer is a person who oversees film production. Either employed by a production company or working independently, producers plan and coordinate various aspects of film production, such as selecting the script, coordinating writing, directing, editing, and arranging financing. The producer is responsible for finding and selecting promising material for development. Unless the film is based on an existing script, the producer hires a screenwriter and oversees the script's development. These activities culminate with the pitch, led by the producer, to secure the financial backing that enables production to begin. If all succeeds, the project is "greenlighted". The Art Institutes (AI) are a collection of private for-profit art schools in the United States. CINE
Ciné film or cine film is the term commonly used in the UK and historically in the US to refer to the 8 mm, Super 8, 9.5 mm, and 16 mm motion picture film formats used for home movies.
