Marc Roberts (singer)
Seán Hegarty (born 25 June 1968), better known by his stage name Marc Roberts, is an Irish singer, best known for representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997. His song, "Mysterious Woman", finished in second place and reached number two on the Irish Singles Chart. He is originally from Crossmolina, County Mayo, and now based in Galway, where he presents a local radio show as well as continuing his singing career. He has to date released six studio albums. Career Marc Roberts rose to prominence when he represented Ireland in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Mysterious Woman". The song finished in second place behind Katrina and the Waves' "Love Shine a Light". The single made No.2 in the Irish Singles Chart, remaining on the chart for seven weeks. Crossmolina
Crossmolina is a town in the Barony of Tyrawley in County Mayo, Ireland, as well as the name of the parish in which Crossmolina is situated. The town sits on the River Deel near the northern shore of Lough Conn. Crossmolina is about west of Ballina on the N59 Road. Surrounding the town, there are a number of agriculturally important townlands, including Enaghbeg, Rathmore, and Tooreen. Dustin the Turkey, a character performed by John Morrison is a former star of RTÉ television's ''The Den'' between 1989 and 2010 and from 2020. He has been described as "the most subversive comedy force on Irish television". A turkey-vulture with a strong Dublin accent hailing from Sallynoggin, Dustin first appeared on ''The Den'' with Zig and Zag in December 1989, but remained there after their 1993 departure to Channel 4. He also outlasted four human co-hosts, all of whom moved to radio, Ian Dempsey, Ray D'Arcy, Damien McCaul and Francis Boylan Jr. Dustin has also had a successful music career with chart-topping singles in his native land. Dawn Martin represented Ireland in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Is Always Over Now?". Before Eurovision National Final Réalta '98 'Réalta' was a radio song contest started in 1995 by RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltacht exclusively for Irish songs. The first edition of the contest was not related to Eurosong, but from 1996 until 1999, the recent winner of Réalta would qualify to Eurosong. The 4th edition of Réalta took place on November or December 1997. The running order and results of Réalta '98 are unknown. Eurosong Eurosong 1998 was held at the RTÉ Television Centre in Dublin on 8 March 1998 and hosted by Pat Kenny. 400 entries were submitted for the competition and eight artists and songs were selected to compete. Dawn Martin (born 1976 in Dundalk) is an Irish people, Irish singer who represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, Ireland in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest. Career and Eurovision Dawn Martin left school at the age of 14 and began working as a hairdresser. Being the eldest of eight children, she helped her parents to raise the family. In 1996 Martin had been asked to sing at a friend's wedding and was persuaded by the band to enter a local talent contest. Although working full-time as a hairdresser, Martin continued singing and became a member of a local cabaret band called Us, who performed at weddings and local pubs. In 1997 Martin appeared on ''George Jones (radio presenter), The George Jones Show'' on BBC Radio Ulster and was heard by Gerry Morgan, who invited Martin to perform his song "Is Always Over Now?". "The Voice" is a song by Irish singer Eimear Quinn that was the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1996, representing . The music was composed, and the lyrics were written, by Brendan Graham, who had also written and composed "Rock 'n' Roll Kids", the Irish winner from the 1994 contest.
