Mara Of The Wilderness
''Mara of the Wilderness'' is a 1965 adventure film directed by Frank McDonald, produced by former Disney animator Brice Mack with his studio Unicorn Films, and starring Adam West, Lori Saunders, and Theodore Marcuse. Plot In the contemporary areas of Alaska, Mara Wade (Lori Saunders) is a barefoot wild woman whose parents are killed in a Bear attack. Raised by wolves and wearing only a fur dress, she rescues and befriends an anthropologist named Ken Williams ( Adam West) who is interested in teaching her what is in the world. But she is hunted as well by a ruthless carnival worker named Jarnagan (Theodore Marcuse) causing Ken to work to keep her safe. Frank McDonald (director)
Frank Burgess McDonald (November 9, 1899 – March 8, 1980) was an American film and television director, active from 1935 to 1966. He directed more than 100 films, including many Westerns starring Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, and numerous TV show episodes. He is interred at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, California. McDonald was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Samuel and Florence McDonald. His father was an employee of Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Participation in amateur theatrical productions sparked an interest in performing, causing him to leave Baltimore City College to pursue a career in entertainment. McDonald's professional performing debut came in a vaudeville act in which he played a burglar. He also acted on Broadway, in ''Puppets'' (1925), ''The K Guy'' (1928), ''Just to Remind You'' (1931), and ''Bulls, Bears and Asses'' (1932). Denver Dell Pyle (May 11, 1920 – December 25, 1997) was an American film and television actor and director. He was well known for a number of TV roles from the 1960s through the 1980s, including his portrayal of Briscoe Darling Jr. in several episodes of ''The Andy Griffith Show,'' as Jesse Duke in ''The Dukes of Hazzard'' from 1979 to 1985, as Mad Jack in the NBC television series ''The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams'', and as the titular character's father, Buck Webb, in CBS's ''The Doris Day Show''. In many of his roles, he portrayed either authority figures, or gruff, demanding father figures, often as comic relief. Ed Kemmer (October 29, 1921 – November 9, 2004) was an American motion picture and television actor. Life Kemmer was born in Reading, Pennsylvania as Edward William Kemmerer, and served as a fighter pilot in World War II. He was shot down over France and spent 11 months in a POW camp. He briefly escaped from the camp for two weeks before he was recaptured. Kemmer made his television debut in 1951 and starred as Buzz Corry in the live television science fiction action-drama '' Space Patrol'' (1951-1956). Kemmer made his film debut in 1956 (''Behind the High Wall''). He had a starring role as a pilot in the film ''The Hot Angel'' (1958), but his big-screen work was mostly small roles in low-budget B movies such as ''Giant from the Unknown'' (1958).
