Marr (Scottish Gaelic: ''Màrr'') is one of six committee areas in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It has a population of 34,038 (2001 Census). Someone from Marr is called a ''Màrnach'' in Scottish Gaelic. Kathy Mar (; from Chinese ' by analogy with non-rhotic accents) is an American filk singer. Career Mar worked as a professional folk singer and street performer in Denver, Colorado for many years before discovering filk. Her first recordings were for Off Centaur Publications (''Songbird, On a Bright Wind, Bamboo Wind'') and she went on to record two albums with Thor Records (''Plus Ça Change, Plus C'est La Même Chose'') which have recently been re-released as a double CD. Halldor Mar is an Icelandic songwriter and guitarist. His music is based on acoustic folk music and alternative rock. He is also a member of the composing pop rock group Wiggum.
