Quilmes, Buenos Aires
Quilmes () is a city on the coast of the Rio de la Plata, in the , on the south east of the Greater Buenos Aires. The city was founded in 1666 and it is the seat of the eponymous county. With a population of 230,810, it is located south of the capital of Argentina, the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. History The ''Quilmes'' were a native tribe who lived in the surroundings of Tucumán. In the 17th century, after repeated attempts by the Spanish invaders to control their lands, the Quilmes were defeated and were forced to settle in a restricted colony ('' reducción'') near Buenos Aires, where the authorities could control them. The settlement was thus established in 1666 as ''Exaltación de la Santa Cruz de los Kilme''. The journey from Tucumán was made on foot, causing hundreds of Quilmes to die in the process. The 1933 Primera División was the 42nd season of top-flight football in Argentina. It continued with both associations organising tournaments. The official AFA season did not have relegations at the end of the championship while Sportivo Acassuso made its debut in Primera. On the other hand, the dissident professional league (LAF) organised its 3rd. championship, in which relegation took place for the first time, with 5 teams sent to the second division. The amateur AFA season was won by Dock Sud, achieving its first title in Primera División, with Alfonso Lorenzo (Barracas Central) being the topscorer with 16 goals. The professional LAF tournament was won by San Lorenzo de Almagro that obtained its 4° Primera División title. Francisco Varallo of Boca Juniors was the top goalscorer with 34 goals. The ninth South American Championship was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 29 November to 25 December 1925. In 1925, the participating countries were Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Cesáreo Onzari
Cesáreo Onzari (February, 1903 – January, 1964) was an Argentine footballer who played as a left winger. He made his entire career in Huracán, playing from 1921 until his retirement in 1933. He was the first footballer known to have scored directly on a corner kick without an assist in professional play. Biography Onzari started his career playing for clubs Sportivo Boedo and Mitre. In 1921 he made his debut at Huracán, where he played as a left winger. Although Onzari made a successful career in football, his peak of popularity was on October 2, 1924, during a friendly match between Argentina and Uruguay national teams, played at Estadio Sportivo Barracas. When only 15 minutes had been played, Onzari made a goal from a corner kick, with no other player touching the ball before scoring. The Asociación Amateurs de Football (AAmF) was a dissident football association of Argentina that organised its own championships from 1919 to 1926. The Argentine Football Association did not recognise those championships until both associations were merged in 1926. Currently all the championships organised by the AAmF are considered official by the AFA. History On 16 March 1919, the Primera División season started with 19 teams taking part. The 1926 Argentine Primera División was the 35th season of top-flight football in Argentina. The AFA championship began on April 18 and ended on January 16, 1927. The AAm season began on April 4 and ended on November 21. All Boys, Colegiales, El Porvenir, Nueva Chicago, Sportivo Barracas and Temperley moved to rival league Asociación Amateurs when most of fixtures had been disputed.
