Manuel Lima
Manuel Lima FRSA (born May 3, 1978) is a Portuguese–American designer, author, and lecturer known for his work in information visualization and visual culture. WIRED describes Lima as "the man who turns data into art" and Forbes magazine says "Manuel has helped elevate information visualization to an art form." He is the author of three books translated into several languages and currently resides in New York City with his wife and two daughters. Biography Lima grew up in São Miguel Island, in the Azores. From an early age Lima has shown an interest in the visual language of maps, many of which were kept in a cabinet at home from various family road trips. His dad has also been an important catalyst in his appreciation for design. Chiharu Shiota
(born 1972) is a Japanese performance and installation artist. Educated in Japan, Australia, and Germany, Shiota interweaves materiality and the psychic perception of the space to explore ideas around the body and flesh, personal narratives that engage with memory, territory, and alienation. Her signature installations, which consist of dazzling, intricate networks of threads stretching across gallery rooms, made the artist rise to fame in the 2000s. Tomás Saraceno (San Miguel de Tucumán, 1973) is an Argentine contemporary artist whose projects, consisting of floating sculptures, international collaborations, and interactive installations, propose and dialogue with forms of inhabiting and sensing the environment that have been suppressed in the Capitalocene era.
