Manuel Clouthier
Manuel de Jesús Clouthier del Rincón (June 13, 1934 – October 1, 1989) was a Mexican agriculturalist, businessman and politician. His 1988 presidential campaign challenged the dominance of Mexico's PRI party in the nation's politics, with rhetoric and protests before, during and after the elections. Although officially coming in third, he remained a prominent political force in Mexico until his death in a car accident a year after the elections. Life Clouthier was born on June 13, 1934, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico to Manuel Clouthier Martínez de Castro and María Cristina del Rincón Bernal. His family owned 30,000 hectares of land in the Culiacán Valley as the descendant of Jean Auguste Clouthier, a French-Canadian doctor who made his home there in 1850. Culiacán
Culiacán, officially Culiacán Rosales, is a city in northwestern Mexico, the capital and largest city of both the Culiacán Municipality and the state of Sinaloa. The city was founded on 29 September 1531, by the Spanish Conquistadores, conquerors Lázaro de Cebreros and Nuño de Guzmán, Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán under the name of "Villa de San Miguel", referring to its patron saint, Michael the Archangel. Culiacán Cathedral
The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary ( es, Catedral Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Rosario), also known as Culiacán Cathedral, is the Catholic cathedral that serves as the headquarters of the diocese of Culiacán, Mexico, although it is not the oldest temple in the municipality, since it dates from 1842. The oldest are the Tabalá and Tacuichamona temples (18th century). On May 22, 1842, the seventh bishop of Sonora and Sinaloa, Lázaro de la Garza y Ballesteros, authorized construction of the church. After an interruption in the works, these were restarted in 1855 by the Honorable. S. D. D. Pedro Loza y Pardavé. And then the building was interrupted again because of the Reform Movement. Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano (; born 1 May 1934) is a Mexican prominent politician. The son of 51st President of Mexico Lázaro Cárdenas, he is a former Head of Government of Mexico City and a founder of the Party of the Democratic Revolution. He ran for the presidency of Mexico three times, and his 1988 loss to the Institutional Revolutionary Party candidate Carlos Salinas de Gortari had long been considered a direct result of obvious electoral fraud perpetrated by the ruling PRI, later acknowledged by President Miguel de la Madrid. Porfirio Alejandro Muñoz Ledo y Lazo de la Vega (born July 23, 1933 in Mexico City) is a Mexican politician. He is one of the founders of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).
