The Mansfield Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Eagles'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Mansfield, Victoria. The Mansfield teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley League. The ''Eagles'' home ground is the Mansfield Recreation Reserve. History The seed of the Mansfield FC was planted because of an advertisement in the ''Mansfield Guardian'' on 18 May 1878. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. History The league was initially called the Goulburn Valley District Football Association(GVDFA) and dates back to May, 1893. Clubs from the townships of Kyabram, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Nathalia, Numurkah, Shepparton, Shepparton Ramblers, Tatura, Undera and Wunghnu were present at the inaugural meeting. Mensch was a half forward and played in two losing grand final teams. Craig Kelly (born 16 June 1966) is a former Australian rules football player with Collingwood Football Club and served as a successful player manager as well as exploring other sports-related roles. He is the grandson of famous free marketeer and former Government Minister C.R. "Bert" Kelly. Pre-VFL/AFL Kelly began playing top-level football with the Norwood Football Club in the SANFL. He was drafted to Collingwood in the 1986 VFL draft at pick number 34. Collingwood Kelly made his debut in 1989 and became a tough defender. Peter Anthony Tossol (born 21 November 1962) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was also a Victorian Country representative in cricket. Melbourne career Tossol, a forward, came to Melbourne from Thornton-Eildon. Tossol kicked goals with his first two kicks in league football, on debut against Richmond in 1982. A former Assumption College captain, Tossol made only five senior appearances that season, but did well in the reserves, finishing at the club's leading goal-kicker. Jarrod Kayler-Thomson (born 26 July 1985) is an Australian rules footballer. He had played in the Australian Football League with the Hawthorn Football Club. He currently plays with the Subiaco Football Club in the West Australian Football League. Kayler-Thomson was teammate of Jordan Lewis, when the two were underage players at the Geelong Falcons in 2003.
