Manorama (Hindi Actress)
Manorama (16 August 1926 – 15 February 2008) was an Indian character actress in Bollywood known best for her role as the comical tyrant aunt in ''Seeta Aur Geeta'' (1972) and in films such as ''Ek Phool Do Maali'' (1969) and ''Do Kaliyaan'' (1968). She started her career as a child artiste in 1936 in Lahore, under the name Baby Iris. Thereafter, she made her debut as an adult actress in 1941, and performed to her final role in ''Water'' in 2005, her career extending over 60 years. Through her career she acted in over 160 films. After playing heroine roles in the early 1940s, she settled into playing villainous or comic roles. She played comic roles in superhit films such as ''Half Ticket'' appearing alongside Kishore Kumar and the legendary Madhubala. She gave memorable performances in ''Dus Lakh'', ''Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje'', ''Mujhe Jeene Do'', ''Mehboob ki Menhdi'', ''Caravan'', ''Bombay to Goa'' and '' Lawaris''. Manorama (film)
''Manorama'' is a 2009 Telugu-language film, directed by Eshwar Reddy, with music by Koti, starring Charmy Kaur and Nishan in lead roles. Comic actor Ali also made some funny scenes in the movie. Plot The story begins with Gitanjali, a k a Gilli ( Charmy Kaur), who comes to Hyderabad to spend a few days with her friends (Lahari and Sridhar). She lives near Manorama café and there comes a stranger (Nishan) with a bag. His motive is to detonate a bomb in the café, meanwhile Gilli is bored and wants to kill time. With her lip reading skills, she figures out from a distance that a boy is threatening to commit suicide on phone to his girlfriend. Gilli becomes the angel, also notices the number with her abilities and calls up that girl. She comes to Manorama to inform the lover boy, but instead the bomber sees her and falls for her. Homi Master
Homi Master (?–1949) was an actor-director of early Indian cinema. His work extended from the silent era to the talkie era and up to his death. He produced his best films for Kohinoor Film Company and he has been referred to as "silent cinema's most successful film-maker". Master acted in the then-controversial film '' Bhakta Vidur'' (1921), ''Kala Naag'' and ''Kulin Kanta''. Some of his important films were ''Bismi Sadi'', ''Manorama'', ''Do Ghadi Ki Mauj'' (1935), ''Samaj Ki Bhool'' (1934) and ''Gul Sanobar'' (1934). He was active from 1921 to 1949 and made over seventy-eight films. His later films in Gujarati and Hindi were termed as B movies. He died in 1949. Radio Mango is an Indian FM Radio network channel headquartered in Kochi, Kerala. Radio Mango started broadcasting from Kozhikode as Kerala's first Malayalam private FM station on 29 November 2007. It was established as a venture of the Malayala Manorama group, and its programming includes entertainment, music and news. It has satellite stations in Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Alappuzha. Gopishantha (26 May 1937 – 10 October 2015), better known by her stage name Manorama, also called Aachi, was an Indian actress, playback singer and comedian who had appeared in more than 1000 films and 5000 stage performances and several television series predomninantely in the Tamil language until 2015. She was a recipient of the Kalaimamani award. In 2002, Government of India awarded Manorama the Padma Shri for her contribution to the arts.
