Manolo Muñoz
Manolo Muñoz (14 March 1941 –29 October 2000) was a Mexican singer and actor, who was famous for an interpretation of the song "Speedy Gonzales" in the 1960s. He was also one of the first soloists in Mexico to sing, a style that later became popular with artists like José José, Víctor Yturbe, and Luis Miguel. Muñoz, who was born Manuel Muñoz Velasco in La Barca, Jalisco, was also referred to as ''El Flaco Muñoz'', ''El Esqueleto'' and ''El Hombre de la Llamarada''. Speedy Gonzales (song)
"Speedy Gonzales" is a 1961 David Dante alias David Hess song (RCA 8056) about Speedy Gonzales, "the fastest mouse in all Mexico". It was written by Buddy Kaye, Ethel Lee and David Hess. The David Dante original briefly entered the US Music Vendor chart in April 1961. Pat Boone version The song was popularised in the United States as a 1962 single by Pat Boone. The Boone version peaked at the No. 6 Billboard Hot 100 position in 1962 during a total chart run of 13 weeks, doing better in many national charts in Europe, where it sold a million copies. The female voice ("La-la-la...") on this song was of Robin Ward. It also incorporated Mel Blanc voicing Speedy Gonzales as he did in the Warner Brothers cartoons. José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz (17 February 1948 – 28 September 2019), known professionally as José José, was a Mexican singer and actor. Víctor Yturbe
Víctor Yturbe (born Víctor Manuel De Anda Iturbe; May 8, 1936 – November 28, 1987) was a Mexican singer under the stage name " El Pirulí". Career Yturbe was born in Mexico City. In the 1960s, he made his first contact with the artistic world, working as an aquatic clown in a water skiing show in Acapulco. After a spinal injury, he stayed in the Hotel Posada Vallarta in March 1964 where he started to sing professionally in the hotel's bar. Out of this experience came his first compositions, and he soon recorded his first album, entitled ''"Noches en el Posada Vallarta"'', which included the popular track "Puerto Vallarta". His nickname "Pirulí" was because, due to his slim figure, he resembled a pirulí (a type of lollipop famous in Latin America).
