Glina, Ilfov
Glina is a commune in the south-east of Ilfov county, Muntenia, Romania. Its name is derived from Slavic ''Glina'', meaning "clay". It is composed of three villages: Cățelu, Glina and Manolache. The commune is the site of the Glina sewage treatment plant. Manolache Costache Epureanu
Manolache Costache Epureanu (1823–1880) was twice the Prime Minister of Romania both as a representative of the Conservative Party and of the National Liberal Party, more specifically for the first time in 1870 (20 April–14 December) and for the second time in 1876 (6 May–5 August). Biography Born in Bârlad, Moldavia, he studied in Heidelberg, Germany and returned to Moldavia to participate in the 1848 revolutionary movement, being part of the ad hoc committee. In 1866, he was the president of the council which decided to invite a foreign dynasty to rule Romania. In 1871, during the Lascăr Catargiu conservative government, Epureanu was the Minister of Justice between October 1872 and March 1873. He then switched to the opposition and in 1876, he was a national liberal Prime Minister, but later he switched again to the Conservative Party. Cicerone Manolache (born 16 May 1936) is a Romanian former footballer and manager who played as a forward and made four appearances for the Romania national team. International career Manolache made his debut for Romania's Olympic team on 25 November 1962 in a 1964 European Nations' Cup qualifying match against Spain, in which he scored Romania's second goal in a 3–1 win. Including Olympics matches, he went on to make seven appearances, scoring three goals, before making his last appearance on 3 November 1963 in a 1964 Summer Olympics football qualification match against Denmark, which finished as a 2–3 loss. Ionela Târlea
Ionela Târlea (during marriage ''Târlea-Manolache;'' born 9 February 1976) is a former track and field athlete, competing internationally for Romania. She won the silver medal in the 400 m hurdles at the 2004 Summer Olympics. At the same games in Athens, Greece, Târlea helped the Romanian national team to sixth place in the 4 × 400 m relay. She gained recognition in top international competitions as early as 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics, when she came seventh in the 400 m hurdles event. In 1999 at the World Indoor Athletics Championships she won the gold medal in the 200 metres. In 2000 in Sydney, Australia, Târlea earned her place again in the finals of the 400 m hurdles event, and came sixth. In 2002, she reaped gold at the European Championships held in Munich, also in the 400 m hurdles, her preferred event.
