Mano Thangaraj
Mano Thangaraj is an Indian politician from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Since May 2016, he has been representing Padmanabhapuram constituency in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He is also the incumbent Minister of Milk and Dairy Development of Tamil Nadu. Early life He was born on 1 June 1967 to Thangaraj from Karungal in Kanyakumari district. Education Mano Thangaraj did his schooling at LMS School, Palliyadi and studied at Nesamony Memorial Christian College (NMCC) (in Marthandam, Kanyakumari), where he was the students union chairman. This period marked his interest in politics. He obtained an MA in English literature from Annamalai University in May 1997. Activism In 1988, he protested against drawing water from the Pechiparai Reservoir for the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP). Marthandam
Marthandam is a major trade centre in Kuzhithurai municipality across National Highway (NH 47) in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. Formerly known as Thoduvetty (another name for the Marthandam market region), it was a portion of Kanyakumari district which was added to the state of Tamil Nadu on 1 November 1956. The Fourteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 13 April 2011 to elect members from 234 constituencies in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Results were released on 13 May 2011. 2016 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election
The Fifteenth Legislative Assembly Election was held on 16 May 2016 for the 232 seats (except Thanjavur and Aravakurichi for which held on 26 October 2016) of the Legislative Assembly in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. AIADMK under J. Jayalalithaa won the elections and became the first ruling party to be re-elected in Tamil Nadu since 1984, though with a simple majority.
