The Minister charged with the administration of The Manitoba Lotteries Corporation Act is a government position in the province of Manitoba, Canada. It is not a full ministerial portfolio, and is always held by a member of government with other responsibilities. From January 16, 1981, to November 4, 1983, the minister was designated as responsible for the Lotteries and Gaming Control Act. The current minister is Greg Selinger. Greg Selinger
Gregory Francis Selinger (born February 16, 1951) is a Canadian former politician who served as the 21st premier of Manitoba from 2009 until 2016, leading an NDP government. From 1999 to 2009 he was the Minister of Finance in the government of his immediate predecessor, Gary Doer. Selinger was the member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for St. Boniface from 1999 until his resignation in early 2018. His party was defeated by Brian Pallister and the Progressive Conservatives in the 2016 Manitoba general election. Laurent Desjardins
Laurent Louis "Larry" Desjardins (March 15, 1923 – February 7, 2012) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served as a member of the Manitoba legislature for most of the period from 1959 to 1988, and was a cabinet minister under New Democratic Premiers Edward Schreyer and Howard Pawley. The New Democratic Party of Manitoba (french: Nouveau Parti démocratique du Manitoba) is a social-democratic political party in Manitoba, Canada. It is the provincial wing of the federal New Democratic Party, and is a successor to the Manitoba Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. It is currently the opposition party in Manitoba. Formation and early years In the federal election of 1958, the national Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) was reduced to only eight seats in the House of Commons of Canada. The CCF's leadership restructured the party during the next three years, and in 1961 it merged with the Canadian Labour Congress to create the New Democratic Party (NDP). Most provincial wings of the CCF also transformed themselves into "New Democratic Party" organisations before the year was over, with Saskatchewan as the only exception. Edward McGill
Edward Robert McGill (September 21, 1912 in Vancouver, British Columbia – December 3, 1996) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1969 to 1981, and was a cabinet minister in the government of Sterling Lyon. McGill was raised in Brandon, Manitoba, and was educated at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He worked for Inco Steel from 1933 to 1939. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1940 to 1945, and later managed the Brandon Flying Club. McGill married Marguerite Eve Shaw in 1942. He served as a director of the Brandon General Hospital, and was a member of the Brandon Police Commission. Robert Banman
Robert "Bob" Banman (born January 10, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a politician from Manitoba, Canada. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1973 to 1986, and served as a cabinet minister in the government of Sterling Lyon. The son of Jacob G. Banman and Barbara Enns, he was raised in Steinbach, Manitoba. He worked as an automobile dealer after graduating from high school and was on the Steinbach Town Council from 1970 to 1973.
