Manish (band)
Manish (マニッシュ ''Manisshu'') were a Japanese power-pop band formed in 1992 by vocalist and lyricist, Misuzu Takahashi and composer and keyboardist, Mari Nishimoto. The band's name comes from spelling member name MA(ri)NISH(imoto). Manish disbanded in 1998. Biography In early 1992, Misuzu and Mari were part of the Japanese idol group "DALI" who debuted with their only single "Moonlight Densetsu", which was used as opening theme for anime television series Sailor Moon. Soon after release of the single, the group disbanded. During the same year in December, Misuzu and Mari formed the band and debuted with single ''Koibito to Sakebenai'' (). Their second single, ''Koe ni Naranaihodo ni Itoshii'' () was written by vocalist and lyricist of Japanese rock band Wands (band), Wands, Uesugi Show which he later self-covered in their studio album Little Bit…, Little Bit. Sailor Moon
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. It was originally serialized in Kodansha's ''shōjo'' manga magazine ''Nakayoshi'' from 1991 to 1997; the 52 individual chapters were published in 18 volumes. The series follows the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into Sailor Moon to search for a magical artifact, the . She leads a group of comrades, the Sailor Soldiers, called Sailor Guardians in later editions, as they battle against villains to prevent the theft of the Silver Crystal and the destruction of the Solar System. The manga was adapted into an anime series produced by Toei Animation and broadcast in Japan from 1992 to 1997. Toei also developed three animated feature films, a television special, and three short films based on the anime. is a song that served as an opening theme for the anime series, ''Sailor Moon (anime), Sailor Moon''. The song's original version was released in Japan on March 21, 1992, on a split single (music), single by Manish (band), Dali and Misae Takamatsu titled . The Dali recording of "Moonlight Densetsu" served as the opening theme for the first two seasons of ''Sailor Moon'''s anime adaptation.
