Manikam Pillai
Manikam Vasagam Pillai MBE (last name sometimes spelt Pillay) was a Fiji Indian lawyer, football administrator, and politician. He was a supporter of the Alliance Party and in the 1968 by-elections contested the Nadi Indian Communal seat against Dr A. D. Patel, the leader of the Federation Party, but lost by 7903 votes to 2772. He later served as Attorney General of Fiji from 1981 to 1984. He then became Chairman of the Fiji Law Reform Commission, serving till 1987. Federation Party
The Federation Party was Fiji's first formal political party. The Citizens Federation, which had won three of the four seats reserved for Indo-Fijians at the 1963 elections, decided to formalize its role as a political party, which was officially founded on 21 June 1964 with A. D. Patel as President and Sidiq Koya as Vice-President. The merger took place in time for the party to participate in the 1965 constitutional conference which was called to map out a path towards independence from the United Kingdom. Govind Park
Govind Park is a multi-use stadium in Ba (town), Ba, Fiji. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and hosts the home matches of Ba F.C. The stadium holds 13,500 people. It is named after one of the former mayors of Ba town, ''Kishore Govind''. Govind Park has hosted football tournaments such as the ''Fiji Fact'', ''Battle of the Giants'' and ''Inter District Championship''. Established in Levuka on 4 September 1869 by George Littleton Griffiths, it is Fiji's oldest newspaper still operating.
