Manifesta 13
Manifesta 13 was an art exhibition within the Manifesta European art biennial, hosted in Marseille, France, between August and November 2020. Overview Manifesta is a European art biennial that rotates between host cities. It will be the first French Manifesta, hosted in Marseille. Originally scheduled to run June 7 to November 1, 2020, the exhibition was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and rescheduled for later in the year, August 28 to November 29, 2020, with a phased rollout of programming. Planning Manifesta 13's artistic team includes Alya Sebti, Katerina Chuchalina, and Stefan Kalmár. Manifesta chose Marseille for 2020 based on its status as an "outsider city" in which residents put their association with the multicultural city before their affiliation with the country. An art exhibition is traditionally the space in which art objects (in the most general sense) meet an audience. Winy Maas
Wilhelmus "Winy" Maas (born 1959 in Schijndel) is a Dutch architect, landscape architect, professor and urbanist. In 1993 together with Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries he set up MVRDV. Education He completed his studies at the RHSTL Boskoop, graduating as a "landscape architect", and in 1990 he got his degree from the Delft University of Technology. He currently is visiting professor of architectural design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is professor in architecture and urban design at the faculty of architecture, Delft University of Technology. Before this he was professor at among others Berlage Institute, Ohio State and Yale University. Eiffel Tower

MVRDV
MVRDV is a Rotterdam, Netherlands-based architecture and urban design practice founded in 1993. The name is an acronym for the founding members: Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs, and Nathalie de Vries. History Maas and Van Rijs worked at OMA, De Vries at Mecanoo before starting MVRDV. The trio studied architecture together at the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands and won the "Europan 2" competition with their project "Berlinvoids" in 1991 before founding MVRDV two years later. Stefan Kalmár
Stefan Kalmár is a German curator who was the director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London from 2016 until 2021. Kalmár was executive director and chief curator of Artists Space, New York from 2009 to 2016, director of Kunstverein München from 2004 to 2009, director of the Institute of Visual Culture, Cambridge from 2000 to 2004 and artistic director of Cubitt Artists, Cubitt Gallery, London from 1997 to 1999. Kalmár was a judge for the Turner Prize in 2014. He was also a member of the artistic team for the 13th edition of Manifesta in Marseille 2020, together with Alya Sebti and Katerina Chuchalina. Manifesta 12
Manifesta, also known as the European Nomadic Biennial, is a European pan-regional contemporary cultural biennale. History Manifesta was founded in 1994 by Dutch art historian Hedwig Fijen. The first edition took place in Rotterdam. One of the coordinators in Rotterdam was Thomas Meyer zu Schlochtern of the Rotterdamse Kunststichting. Among the local artists brought into the international scene, were Jeanne van Heeswijk, Bik Van Der Pol, and Joep van Lieshout. The 2006 edition of Manifesta was set to happen in Nicosia, Cyprus, under the direction of Florian Waldvogel, Mai Abu ElDahab, and Anton Vidokle. In June 2006, Nicosia for Art, the city-run nonprofit organization sponsoring the exhibition, cancelled the event due to political turmoil around the green line of Nicosia.
