Maniava
Maniava or Manyava ( uk, Манява, pl, Maniawa) is located on the banks of the Maniavka River in Ivano-Frankivsk Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast of Western Ukraine. It is a village of about 3,500 people and is situated in the Ukrainian Carpathian mountains. Maniava belongs to Solotvyn settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Until 18 July 2020, Maniava belonged to Bohorodchany Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast to six. The area of Bohorodchany Raion was merged into Ivano-Frankivsk Raion. Maniava Skete
Manyava Skete of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, (transliterated often as Maniava or Manjava Skete) - otherwise known as Ukrainian Athos, is Orthodox solitary cell men's monastery (skete) in the Carpathian mountains of western Ukraine. It is situated on the outskirts of the village of Maniava in Ivano-Frankivsk Raion of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate. Hegumen of the monastery is Ioasaf, metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk and Halych. Currently there are 8 monks residing at the monastery. Manyava Skete is famous for the apparition of Virgin Mary who appeared here twice and for its miracle-working icon of Manyava Icon of Mother of God. The icon "cried" twice, shedding myrrh (supernatural oil) in 2004 and last in spring of 2012. These events were widely reported by the Ukrainian news and TV media. Maniava Waterfall
Maniava waterfall ( uk, Манявський водоспад) is one of the highest waterfalls in the Ukrainian Carpathians and is located in the Gorgany mountain ridge in Ukraine. Geography Maniava waterfall is located on the Maniavka river, about south of Maniava, Ivano-Frankivsk Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Its height is nearly . Near the waterfall there is a canyon that is approximately long with rocks up to high. The water falls down the flysch formations. Overview The waterfall also boasts a small lake, where the water remains cool even in hot season. Fir and beech forests line the waterfall creating a very beautiful and tranquil environment. The waterfall turns a little wild following heavy rainfall or the monsoon with frequent flash floods. In winter months frozen icicles look like chimeras with an enchanting effect on the visitors who frequent the place. Bohorodchany Raion
Bohorodchany raion ( uk, Богородча́нський райо́н, translit=Bohorodčanśkyj rajon) was a district (raion) of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in Ukraine. The urban-type settlement of Bohorodchany was the administrative center of the district. The raion was vaguely reminiscent with the Bohorodczan Powiat of the Stanisławów Voivodeship (1920 - 1932). Ivano-Frankivsk Raion ( uk, Івано-Франківський район, translit=Ivano-Frankiwśkyj rajon) is a raion (district) of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. It was created in July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. The center of the raion is the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. Hromada
A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality. It was established by the Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Similar terms exist in Poland (''gromada'') and in Belarus (''hramada'').
