Manggarai Regency
Manggarai Regency is a regency in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia, situated on the island of Flores. Established in 1958 the regency was reduced in size and population by the separation of Manggarai Barat regency in 2003 and of Manggarai Timur regency in 2007. The area of the residual Manggarai Regency is 2,096.44 km2 and its population was 292,037 at the 2010 censusBiro Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2011. and 312,855 at the 2020 census;Badan Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2021. the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 315,041. Regencies Of Indonesia
A regency ( id, kabupaten), sometimes incorrectly referred to as a district, is an administrative division of Indonesia, directly under a province and on the same level with city (''kota''). Regencies is divided into districts (''Kecamatan'', ''Distrik'' in Papua region, or ''Kapanewon'' in the Special Region of Yogyakarta). The English name "regency" comes from the Dutch colonial period, when regencies were ruled by ''bupati'' (or regents) and were known as ''regentschap'' in Dutch (''kabupaten'' in Javanese and subsequently Indonesian). East Nusa Tenggara ( id, Nusa Tenggara Timur – NTT; pt, Sonda Oriental) is the southernmost province of Indonesia. Flores
Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, a group of islands in the eastern half of Indonesia. Including the Komodo Islands off its west coast (but excluding the Solor Archipelago to the east of Flores), the land area is 15,530.58 km2, and the population was 1,878,875 in the 2020 Census (including various offshore islands); the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 1,897,550. Lesser Sunda Islands
The Lesser Sunda Islands or nowadays known as Nusa Tenggara Islands ( id, Kepulauan Nusa Tenggara, formerly ) are an archipelago in Maritime Southeast Asia, north of Australia. Together with the Greater Sunda Islands to the west they make up the Sunda Islands. The islands are part of a volcanic arc, the Sunda Arc, formed by subduction along the Sunda Trench in the Java Sea. Ruteng
Ruteng is a small town in the highlands towards the western end of Flores Island, Indonesia. It is the administrative capital of Manggarai Regency, serviced by the Frans Sales Lega Airport or Ruteng Airport. The population is predominantly Roman Catholic, but still preserve the ancient Manggarai custom of ''caci'' (whip fighting), which is usually practiced at weddings, and serves as a tourist attraction. Telephone Numbers In Indonesia
Telephone numbers in Indonesia have different systems for land lines and mobile phones: land lines use area codes, while mobile phones do not. For land line area codes, the digit "0" is added in front when dialing domestic long distance from within Indonesia, but is always omitted when calling from abroad. Instead, callers would use the Indonesian country code +62, followed by the area code, without the "0". Domestic phone numbers in large cities have 8 digits, and in other areas 7 digits. West Manggarai Regency ( id, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat) is one of the eight Regency (Indonesia), regencies which comprise the List of islands of Indonesia, island of Flores, located in the provinces of Indonesia, province of East Nusa Tenggara (''Nusa Tenggara Timur'') in Indonesia. The Regency was created on 25 February 2003 by separation off the western districts of Manggarai Regency. East Manggarai Regency ( id, Kabupaten Manggarai Timur) is a regency in East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Established on 17 July 2007 (out of the eastern six districts of the Manggarai Regency), the regency has its seat (capital) in the town of Borong. The population at the 2010 Census was 252,754, and at the 2020 Census was 275,603; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 277,910.
