Mangalagiri Assembly Constituency
Mangalagiri is a constituency in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, representing the state legislative assembly in India. As per the ''Delimitation Orders (2008),'' the constituency covers the mandals of Tadepalle, Mangalagiri and Duggirala. It is one of the seven assembly segments of Guntur Lok Sabha constituency, along with Tadikonda, Ponnur, Tenali, Prathipadu, Guntur West, and Guntur East. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is the current MLA of the constituency, who won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from YSR Congress Party. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly or Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature. The Legislative Assembly consists of 175 members which are elected by adult universal suffrage under the first-past-the-post system. The duration of the Assembly is five years from the date appointed for its first meeting, unless it is decided to dissolve the Assembly sooner. The Legislative Assembly's main functions include legislation, overseeing of administration, passing the budget, and airing public grievances. The assembly is Bicameral and holds three sessions annually: one for Budget, Monsoon and Winter. The 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 11 April 2019 for constituting the fifteenth Legislative Assembly in the state. Mangalagiri is a South Suburb of Vijayawada in Guntur district of States and union territories of India, Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The town is a part of Mangalagiri Tadepalle Municipal Corporation and part of Tenali revenue division.
