Manfred Leuchter
Manfred Johannes Leuchter (born 15 June 1960 in Würselen, Germany) is a German accordionist, composer, pianist and producer of various musical genres. His stylistic influences include rock and pop, jazz and ballads, as well as African and Middle Eastern music. In the early 2000s, and invited by the German Goethe-Institut, Leuchter toured with his jazz band in India, Romania, Morocco, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon. Following encounters with local musicians, he performed and recorded with the Hewar jazz fusion band from Syria or with oud player Driss el Maloumi in Morocco. Leuchter lives and works in Aachen, Germany, and also lived for extended stays in Marrakesh, Morocco. In addition, Leuchter works as a producer for various artists, such as German singer-songwriter Reinhard Mey, for whom he has produced various albums and played in live concerts. Würselen
Würselen (, Ripuarian language, Ripuarian: ) is a town in the borough of Aachen (district), Aachen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Geography Würselen lies north of the city of Aachen in the immediate vicinity of the tripoint of Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Its neighbouring settlements are, in clockwise order, the towns of Herzogenrath, Alsdorf and Eschweiler and the city of Aachen. Würselen is part of Aachen's Nordkreis quarter and is the only part of the city borough without external boundaries. Lena Chamamyan ( ar, لينا شماميان, hy, Լենա Շամամեան; born 27 June 1980) is a Syrian-Armenian singer-songwriter known for her soprano voice and unique style, which fuses jazz, Middle Eastern folk music and Western classical music. Personal life Lena was born in Damascus to Artine Chamamyan, an Armenian Catholic from Aleppo with roots from Marash, and Ghada, a Syriac woman originally from Mardin. Her paternal great-grandfather, Sarkis Chamamyan, was a calligrapher, originally from Marash, Cilicia. She has said that his education and skills saved him and his family during the Armenian genocide, as the Ottoman army made use of his skills to write military communiqués and his life was spared. After the war, he and his family settled in Aleppo, along with a large number of Armenians who had been deported from Cilicia.
