Manfred Herweh
Manfred Herweh (born 14 June 1954) is a Germans, German former professional Motorcycle sport, motorcycle racer. He competed in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, Grand Prix motorcycle road racing from 1982 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 1982 to 1989 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 1989. Motorcycle racing career Herweh was born in Lampertheim, Hesse, Germany. He is notable for being the last competitor to win a 350cc Grand Prix race, at the 1982 German motorcycle Grand Prix, 1982 German Grand Prix. He had his best year in 1984 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 1984 when he won four races riding a Rotax-powered Real 250cc motorcycle. Herweh ended the season in second place behind Christian Sarron. He retired after the 1989 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, 1989 season. From 1984, Herweh constructed motorcycles using frames from Nico Bakker and Rotax engines. Lampertheim
Lampertheim is a town in the Bergstraße district in Hesse, Germany. In 1984, the town hosted the 24th ''Hessentag'' state festival. Sinsheim Auto & Technik Museum
The Technik Museum Sinsheim is a technology museum in Sinsheim, Germany. Opened in 1981, it is run by a registered association called "Auto & Technik Museum Sinsheim e. Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling event that was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Before 1993, the race was known as the Czechoslovak motorcycle Grand Prix. Since 1965, the race was a part of world Grand Prix series (between 1982 and 1987 race was held as a part of European Grand Prix series only). Since 1987 the race was held on the newly built Brno Circuit, the historical track led through the streets of western parts of Brno and neighboring villages, such as Bosonohy and Žebětín. It was the most prestigious motor race in the country. Brno has also held the most motorcycle championship rounds in the sport's history after the TT Circuit Assen. The race was not included in the calendar after Brno city councillors announced that they would opt out for the season, citing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finnish Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Finnish motorcycle Grand Prix was part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing championship from 1962 to 1982. It was held at the Tampere Circuit in 1962 and 1963 before moving to the Imatra Circuit. Giacomo Agostini won the most Finnish Grands Prix with ten 500cc victories and seven 350cc victories. In July 2016, it was announced the Grand Prix would return on the new Kymi Ring circuit. 1982 French Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1982 French motorcycle Grand Prix was the third round of the 1982 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 7–9 May 1982 at the Circuit de Nogaro. The race was controversial, because the major factory teams (Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki), which included top riders like Kenny Roberts, Barry Sheene, Freddie Spencer, Franco Uncini and Takazumi Katayama, largely or completely boycotted the event due to the dangerous track conditions. Some private drivers also boycotted the race, which led to the venue never reappearing on the calendar ever since. Gina Bovaird, who took advantage of the major factory team's boycott to qualify for the race, remains the only female rider to ever start a race in the 500cc/MotoGP class.
