Mandai Depot
Mandai Depot (Malay: Depot Mandai; Chinese: 万礼车厂) is an integrated train and bus depot located in Mandai, Singapore. The train depot serves as the maintenance and control centre of the Thomson-East Coast line while the bus depot is used for the Sembawang-Yishun Bus Package. The facility is located on a site bounded by Mandai Road, Seletar Expressway and Lorong Lada Hitam, on the former site of Orchidville. The depot is located between Woodlands station and Springleaf station on the Thomson-East Coast Line and has three reception tracks: one track northbound towards Woodlands station and two tracks southbound towards Springleaf station. History First announced by the Land Transport Authority on 16 June 2011, construction of the depot commenced at the end of 2012 and is expected to be an at-grade depot. Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CRRC Qingdao Sifang CT251
The Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CRRC Qingdao Sifang CT251 is the first generation electric multiple unit rolling stock in operation on the Thomson–East Coast line of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, manufactured by a consortium of Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) and CRRC Qingdao Sifang (formerly CSR Qingdao Sifang) under Contract T251. 91 four-car medium-capacity trainsets were purchased by LTA for the Thomson-East Coast line and the first set was delivered on 25 May 2018. Seven additional trains were supposed to be procured for the RTS Link as both the Singapore and Malaysian governments agreed to both lines sharing largely identical technical specifications. Since then, a new agreement signed on 30 July 2020 meant that these trains would not be built and will be replaced by LRT trains. Mandai is a Planning Areas of Singapore, planning area located in the North Region, Singapore, North Region of Singapore, famously known for being the access point of the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, Singapore, Night Safari. The Bus Contracting Model (BCM), formerly known as the Government Contracting Model, is a contracting model introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2014 for public buses in Singapore, implemented in 2016. East Coast Integrated Depot
The East Coast Integrated Depot (Chinese: 东海岸综合车厂; Malay: Depot Bersepadu East Coast), is a future integrated bus and train depot located in Changi that will serve the East West Line, Downtown Line and Thomson-East Coast Line of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Singapore. The depot, with an expected completion date of 2025, will be located beside the current site of Changi Depot, which will be demolished. It will be the first MRT depot in Singapore to serve 3 MRT lines and also the third to be integrated with a bus depot in Singapore after the Tuas West Depot on the East West Line and Gali Batu Depot on the Downtown Line. Woodlands South MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station in Woodlands, Singapore. Serving the Thomson–East Coast line (TEL), it is underneath Woodlands Avenue 1. The station is near Christ Church Secondary School, Yusof Ishak Mosque and the Singapore Sports School. The station will also serve the Woodlands Health Campus. Woodlands MRT Station
Woodlands MRT station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines in Singapore. Located in Woodlands, the MRT station was the first to feature an underground bus interchange underneath the NSL station. Mandai Road
Mandai Road () is a major road located in Mandai, in the northern area of Singapore. The road starts from Woodlands Road and ends at the junction of Sembawang Road and Upper Thomson Road. The road was built in 1855 in a jungle and appeared in the Franklin and Jackson ''Plan of Singapore'' (1828) as a river indicated as "R. Mandi". It has been said the name of the road comes from a tree known as the "Mandai tree". As the road is the main access to the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari, it is common to refer to the zoos collectively as the "Mandai Zoo". The Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium is also located in the area, and is the resting places for those honourable leaders, such as Lee Kuan Yew, the former and first Prime Minister of Singapore.
