Manas Mukul Pal
Manas Mukul Pal (born 25 August 1987) is an Indian film director, actor, and screenwriter who predominantly works in Bengali cinema. He came to the limelight after directing his first feature film '' Colours of Innocence'' (2016) which was a critical and commercial success. He is working on his second feature film which is going to be a biopic of the freedom fighter ''Dinesh Gupta''. Early life Manas completed his schooling from Barasat Peary Charan Sarkar Government High School in 2005 and studied BSc from Barasat Government College. Career His debut film as director is Sahaj Paather Gappo( Colours of Innocence) which was released in 2017 in India. This film got warm critical reception and fetched his success. This is the only Bengali film in last three decades to win National Award in Best Child Actor Category (2016). ''Sahaj Paather Gappo'' ( bn, সহজ পাঠের গপ্পো) ('' en, Colours of Innocence'') is a Bengali film directed by Manas Mukul Pal and produced by Avijit Saha. The film is based on the short story by famous writer Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. The music was done by Chandradip Goswami and Indraadip Dasgupta. Plot 10-year-old Gopal's carefree childhood is disrupted when his father meets with an accident. It becomes difficult for his mother to feed him and his little brother Chottu. Gopal starts devising ways to earn money. With a little assistance from Chottu he takes up odd jobs from cleaning wells to selling laboriously plucked fruits in the local village market. Emboldened by his initial success, Gopal fancies himself as the breadwinner of the family. Dinesh Chandra Gupta ( bn, দিনেশ চন্দ্র গুপ্ত ''Dinesh Chôndro Gupto'') or Dinesh Gupta (6 December 1911 – 7 July 1931) was an Indian revolutionary against British rule in India, who is noted for launching an attack on the Secretariat Building - the Writers' Building in the Dalhousie square in Calcutta, along with Badal Gupta and Benoy Basu.
