Man Of Iron (1935 Film)
''Man of Iron'' is a 1935 American drama film directed by William C. McGann and written by William Wister Haines. The film stars Barton MacLane, Mary Astor, John Eldredge, Dorothy Peterson, Joseph Crehan and Craig Reynolds. The film was released by Warner Bros. on December 21, 1935. Plot Steel mill foreman Chris Bennett is pleased when he is chosen to be the new boss of Harrison Balding's entire business over Ed Tanahill, who is the owner's cousin. Tanahill and secretary Vida conspire to sabotage Chris's progress at the mill reputation with the men. The hard-working and popular Chris now neglects the mill and incurs the wrath of his workers while wife Bessie rues the absence of their old friends. He finally comes to his senses and returns to his old position as foreman before it's too late. Joe King ( – ) was an American actor of silent films and talkies as well as a director and writer. Biography King was born in Austin, Texas as Joseph Sayer King and acted in 211 films from 1912 to 1946. He appeared in his later years mainly in minor, uncredited roles. John Qualen (born Johan Mandt Kvalen, December 8, 1899 – September 12, 1987) was an American character actor of Norwegian heritage who specialized in Scandinavian roles. Early years Qualen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the son of immigrants from Norway; his father was a Lutheran minister and changed the family's original surname, "Kvalen", to "Qualen" – though some sources give Oleson, later Oleson Kvalen as Qualen's earlier surnames. His father's ministering meant many moves and John was 20 when he graduated from Elgin (Illinois) High School in 1920.
