Mamotte Shugogetten
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Minene Sakurano which was serialized in the monthly magazine '' Shōnen GanGan'' from 1996 to 2000. A continuation was published in ''Comic Blade'' titled from 2002 to 2005. The manga was adapted into a 22-episode anime television series produced by Toei Animation which aired from 1998 throughout 1999. An eight-episode OVA series, ''Denshin Mamotte Shugogetten'' was released in 2000. The story involves Tasuke Shichiri, a 14-year-old boy that receives a gift from his father, Tarousuke, who is traveling in China. The gift is a ring, the shitenrin, and those pure of heart may gaze into it and receive a moon goddess named Shaolin. An English adaptation of the first manga was serialized in ''Raijin Comics'' under the English title ''Guardian Angel Getten''. Minene Sakurano
is the pen name of a Japanese manga artist born on November 29 in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Sakurano made her debut in 1995 with her story ''Mother Doll'', which tied for first place in the 1st Enix 21st Century Manga Prize contest, sharing the prize with Yasaka Mamiko's ''Kaze no Daidōzoku''. Her representative work is '' Mamotte Shugogetten'', which was adapted into an anime television series and an OVA series. After a dispute in 2001, Sakurano stopped publishing ''Shugogetten'' in Enix's '' Shōnen Gangan'' and moved the publication to ''Comic Blade'', published by Mag Garden under the title ''Mamotte Shugogetten! Sweet Velvet was a Japanese pop band under Giza Studio label, formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2001. Biography In 1998, the band formation began. As inspiration for music production they used French pop from the '60s. The band title Sweet Velvet came from the idea of their vocalist Mizuki having velvety voice.
