Mambattiyan
''Mambattiyan'' () is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film co-written, produced and directed by Thiagarajan, starring his son Prashanth as the title character. The film, also starring Meera Jasmine, Prakash Raj, Vadivelu and Mumaith Khan in other pivotal roles, is a remake of the 1983 Tamil blockbuster ''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' that starred Thiagarajan himself and Saritha.The film got grand opening because of all songs were chartbusters until the film released on 16 December 2011 to average reviews from critics. Plot IG Ranjith ( Prakash Raj) recalls the memories of a criminal whom he failed to capture. Annachchi (Kota Srinivasa Rao) rules a village in western Tamil Nadu. When he is opposed by Mambattiyan's (Prashanth) father Chinnasamy ( Vijayakumar), the "jameen" kills him. Coming to know of this, Mambattiyan kills Annachi and those in support of him. ''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' () is 1983 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film directed by Rajasekhar, starring Thiagarajan, Saritha and Silk Smita. The film became a blockbuster and established Thigarajan as a star. The film was remade in Hindi by Rajasekhar himself as ''Gangvaa'' (1984). In 2011, Thiagarajan remade this film with his son Prashanth, titled as ''Mambattiyan''. Prashanth
Prashanth Thiagarajan (born 6 April 1973), known professionally as Prashanth, is an Indian actor and businessman, known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema. Besides Tamil films, he has also appeared in few Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam films. At the peak of his career in the late 1990s, Prashanth was one of the popular actors in South India. He has won a Kalaimamani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu. Thiagarajan
Thiagarajan Sivanandam (born 21 June 1946) is an Indian actor, director and producer in Tamil cinema. Beside Tamil, he has also acted in several Malayalam and Kannada films and a few Telugu films. He is the father of Tamil actor Prashanth and the maternal uncle of Tamil actor Vikram. Career Basically a businessman, Thiagarajan made his acting debut with ''Alaigal Oivathillai'', appearing as the elder brother of the film's lead actress Radha. Jasmine Mary Joseph, known professionally as Meera Jasmine, is an Indian actress who appears primarily in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada language films. Meera Jasmine won the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2004 for her role in '' Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam'', and is a two-time recipient of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award. Rajasekhar (died 1991), often credited as Rajasekhar B.Sc., was an Indian film director and producer of Kollywood during the 1980s. He also directed films in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Kota Srinivasa Rao
Kota Srinivasa Rao (born 10 July 1942) is an Indian character actor known for his work primarily in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He has also starred in a few films in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. As a former politician, Rao has served as the MLA from Vijayawada East in Andhra Pradesh, India from 1999 to 2004. Chelladurai
Chelladurai (1941 - 7 February 2015) was an Indian comedian who worked in Tamil-language films. He acted in over 350 films. Career Chelladurai made his film debut with ''Thooral Ninnu Pochchu'' (1982). He is known for his comic sequences with actor Vadivelu. He became famous for his role in '' Shree'' (2002) as the owner of a wine shop named Prabha. In the scene, Marimuthu (Vadivelu) calls the owner and asks when the shop will open. The owner tells him that the store closed. Vadivelu drinks alcohol and repeatedly disturbs the shop owner during the night. Death Chelladurai was admitted to Keezhpakkam Government Hospital in Chennai due to kidney issues on 8 February after having problems for several months. He died on 7 February 2015 due to high blood pressure. Rama is an Indian actress who has appeared in the Tamil film industry in 1990. After her marriage in 1991, she stopped acting in movies and settled with her husband Venkatesh and two sons. Riyaz Khan
