Mamaroneck is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 18,929 at the 2010 census. its population was an estimated 19,131. It is located partially within the town of Mamaroneck and partially within the town of Rye. The portion in Rye is unofficially called "Rye Neck". The Rye Neck Union Free School District contains the Rye Neck portion of Mamaroneck and part of the city of Rye. History Originally, the farming community of Mamaroneck was located on two sides of the Mamaroneck River. In the 1890s, the two areas surrounding the river were joined into one commercial village, Mamaroneck, which was incorporated in 1895. The eastern side of the village lies in the town of Rye and is known as Rye Neck. Mamaroneck ( ) is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 31,758 at the 2020 United States census over 29,156 at the 2010 census. There are two villages contained within the town: Larchmont and the Village of Mamaroneck (part of which is located in the adjacent town of Rye). The majority of the town's land area is not within either village, constituting an unincorporated area, although a majority of the population lives within the villages. Legally, the unincorporated section and the villages constitute the town as a political and governmental subdivision of New York State. Bennett Miller (born December 30, 1966) is an American film director, known for directing the acclaimed films '' Capote'' (2005), '' Moneyball'' (2011), and ''Foxcatcher'' (2014). Scott Leius
Scott Thomas Leius (born September 24, 1965) is a former American League baseball player who played during the 1990s. Leius was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 13th round of the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft out of Concordia College in New York. He then played in the minor leagues for the next four seasons. He was a late season call up by the Minnesota Twins and debuted with the parent club on September 3, 1990. Leius would remain with the Minnesota Twins through the 1995 season when he left for the Minnesota Twins' American League rival, the Cleveland Indians where he spent just one season, 1996. Leius was out of Major League Baseball for the 1997 season. Leius played for the Kansas City Royals during the 1998 and 1999 seasons, ending his career on July 3, 1999. Thomas C. Hauser (born February 27, 1946) is an American author known for his biographies and novels. Biography Hauser graduated from Columbia College in 1967 and Columbia Law School in 1970. He made his debut as a writer in 1978 with ''The Execution of Charles Horman: An American Sacrifice''. Life and activism Al Giordano was born on December 31, 1959, in the Bronx, New York City, and attended Mamaroneck High School in Mamaroneck, New York. Robert Gardner (born March 26, 1965) is an American musician best known as the drummer for the original lineups of L.A. Guns and Guns N' Roses, and was also the backup drummer for Hollywood Rose. Early life Gardner was born in Manhattan, New York. His parents divorced when he was young and both had remarried. His father would move to Los Angeles, California in 1972, while his mother remained in New York. Gardner moved to live with his father and attended Fairfax High in 1979, where he met future L.A.
