Mamanuca Group
The Mamanuca Islands () of Fiji are a volcanic archipelago lying to the west of Nadi and to the south of the Yasawa Islands. The group, a popular tourist destination, consists of about 20 islands, but about seven of these are covered by the Pacific Ocean at high tide. The islands offer crystal clear waters, palm fringed sandy beaches and live coral reefs. There are islands, villages, resorts to visit, snorkel and swim. The coastal/marine ecosystem and recreation value of the archipelago contribute to its national significance as outlined in Fiji's Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. Since 2016, the islands have been the filming location of the television series '' Survivor''. Matamanoa
Matamanoa is a small, private island within the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji in the South Pacific. The islands are a part of the Fiji's Western Division. Geography The island is located 30 km west of Viti Levu (one of the main islands of the Fiji archipelago). Matamanoa can be reached by sea or by helicopter directly from Nadi International Airport. The island has a beach of fine white sand that surrounds it almost entirely—and lush vegetation that covers the hilly interior. The lagoon is not very wide due to the presence of the reef. The island shape suggests that it is a former volcanic cone. The island is home to a secluded private resort. Malololailai
Malolo Lailai (Little Malolo), also known as Plantation Island, is the second largest and most developed of the Mamanuca Islands, lying 20 kilometres west of Nadi on Fiji's main island Viti Levu. Malolo Lailai is the centre of tourism in the Mamanuca Islands, and consists of four resorts, a number of residential houses, a marina and a golf course. Malolo
Malolo is an inhabited volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean, near Fiji. Malolo was used as a tribe name in Survivor: Ghost Island. Malolo Island is the largest of the Mamanuca Islands and is home to two villages. History Malolo was one of the locations surveyed by members the United States Exploring Expedition under Charles Wilkes in 1840. During their visit, two members of the party, including Midshipman Wilkes Henry, Wilkes' nephew, were killed by natives as they attempted to negotiate for food. In retaliation, 80 plus crewmen from the Expedition's ships attacked and destroyed the villages on Malolo, killing 87, and laid waste to all of the crops. Eori
Eori is a privately held island, which lies at the extreme northwestern end of the Mamanuca Islands group. Geography It has an area of 9.7 hectares (24 acres) and was advertised as being for lease in April 2008 with a price of €9,000,000. In 2009 it was offered at auction but failed to sell at a top bid of A$1 million. Ownership Eori was for many years owned by real estate firm Pacific Islands Partnership Limited, which is in turn solely owned by Tim Manning's Chaylor Investments. Beachcomber Island
Beachcomber (also known as Tai) is a small, private island within the Mamanuca Islands of Fiji in the South Pacific, which in turn are a part of Fiji's Western Division. Geography Beachcomber Island, also known as Tai, is one of the resort islands of Fiji, located about 18 km west of Lautoka, the second largest city of the state, located on the main island of Viti Levu. Beachcomber is also called barefoot island, as it is common on the island not to wear shoes.
