Maman Sambo Sidikou
Maman Sambo Sidikou (born 1949) is a diplomat and a former Nigerien politician. He is currently the high representative of the African Union for Mali and the Sahel. From 2011 to 2014, he served as Niger's ambassador to the United States, he oversaw U.N. peacekeeping efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 2015 to 2018, and from 2018 to 2021 he served as executive secretary of the G5 Sahel. Career Sidikou was initially trained as a journalist, then entered government service in 1976. He has primarily been involved in Niger's diplomatic efforts, although he has also served on the staffs of the president and prime minister, and in the country's Ministry of Information. Under President Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara, he was appointed minister of foreign affairs and African integration from 1997 to 1999. Ibrahim Assane Mayaki (born September 24, 1951) is a Nigerien politician, who served as the Prime Minister of Niger from November 27, 1997, to January 3, 2000. Fatima Djibo Sidikou is a Nigerien diplomat. Having served in a variety of diplomatic posts in the United States and at the United Nations Office at Geneva, she is currently Niger's ambassador to Senegal. Career Sidikou first joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983. From 2002 to 2012 she worked at the Nigerien Embassy in the United States, where she served as first counselor and chargé d'affaires. She also helped represent Niger at UNESCO from 2007 to 2012. She became president of the Association of Pastoralists in Niger in 2012. The following year, she took over leadership of the Permanent Secretariat of the Rural Code, which supports agricultural producers. Sidikou was appointed permanent representative of Niger to the United Nations Office at Geneva in 2015.
