Malyuk
The Malyuk ( uk, Малюк, lit. "Baby"), sometimes referred to as the Vulcan-M, is an assault rifle developed by the Ukrainian arms company Interproinvest (IPI). The Malyuk is a development of the Soviet Kalashnikov rifle, Kalashnikov assault rifle, reconfigured into a bullpup layout. History According to IPI Vice CEO Serhiy Luhovskyy, development of the Malyuk started in 2005. It was based on an earlier attempt for a bullpup rifle known as the Vepr and the mistakes made with it. The development was based on a contract placed by the Security Service of Ukraine with prototype rifles provided before inquiries were made by the Ministry of Defence (Ukraine), Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in 2008. The Security Service of Ukraine ( uk, Служба безпеки України, translit=Sluzhba bezpeky Ukrainy}) or SBU ( uk, СБУ, link=no) is the law enforcement authority and main intelligence and security agency of the Ukrainian government, in the areas of counter-intelligence activity and combating terrorism. A Kalashnikov (Калашников) rifle is any one of a series of automatic rifles based on the original design of Mikhail Kalashnikov. The International specialized exhibition "Arms and Security" ( uk, Міжнародна спеціалізована виставка "Зброя та безпека", "Zbroya ta Bezpeka") is an annual trade show of weapons and military equipment. It takes place in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine under the patronage of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine The first exhibition was held in September 2004 according to the 2004 decree of the Cabinet of Ministers. History In 2018 the exhibitors included 456 Ukrainian participants and 47 foreign ones from 17 countries. Poland, Turkey and Czech republic exhibited there for the first time. Selective fire is the capability of a weapon to be adjusted to fire in semi-automatic, fully automatic, and/or burst mode. The modes are chosen by means of a selector switch, which varies depending on the weapon's design. Some selective-fire weapons have burst fire mechanisms to limit the maximum number of shots fired automatically in this mode. The most common limits are two or three rounds per trigger pull.
