Malta In The Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Malta participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. Emma Muscat was selected as the Maltese representative via the national final ''Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022'', where she competed with the song "Out of Sight", but on 14 March 2022 it was announced Muscat would perform the song " I Am What I Am" instead. Malta was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2022. Performing during the show in position 6, "I Am What I Am" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. It was later revealed that Malta placed 16th out of the 18 participating countries in the semi-final with 47 points. Emma Muscat
Emma Louise Marie Muscat (born 27 November 1999) is a Maltese people, Maltese singer and model working in Italy. She represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, with the song "I Am What I Am (Emma Muscat song), I Am What I Am". Early life and career Emma was born in Malta into a very wealthy family, and approached music from an early age. After compulsory education, she decided to enroll at the University of Performing Arts. As an adolescent she showed her skills in singing, dancing, and in the use of musical instruments: she specialized, in particular, with the piano, she is a classically trained pianist and also started to compose both the music and the text of her songs. Quinton Scerri
Quinton Scerri Taylor is a Maltese television personality and former Labour politician from Żabbar, Malta. He started his television career in 2003 with One TV and since 2014 a presenter on TVM, the Public Broadcasting Services until present. He was elected and shortly served as mayor of Żabbar from 2013 until his resignation in 2014. Gerard James Borg
Gerard James Borg is a Maltese songwriter, author, and concept creator. He is well known for writing multiple songs that competed in the Eurovision Song Contest. Borg has written six of the Maltese entries for the annual Eurovision Song Contest with composer Philip Vella. Their song "7th Wonder" sung by Ira Losco gave Malta 2nd place in the contest. This was the first time Malta reached 2nd place and it is the country's best result in the contest so far, alongside the 2nd place earned by Chiara with the song "Angel" in 2005. Philip Vella is a Maltese musical composer. He has won the main national festivals of Malta several times such as the Malta Song for Europe, International Festival of Maltese Song (Malta Song Festival) as well as L-Għanja tal-Poplu festival. Joe Julian Farrugia
Joe Julian Farrugia (born 9 April 1962) is a writer, songwriter and broadcaster from Malta. He was born in Gzira but moved to Paola at the age of 5. He is the youngest sibling and only son of Francis and Beatrix. He attended St. Paul's Missionary College of Rabat Malta. In 1979 Joe Julian won the Anna Muscat Azzopardi prize in the Maltese language and literature from the University of Malta. In his thirties, Joe Julian started to publish his writings. Boban Apostolov ( mk, Бобан Апостолов, born 1984) is a Macedonian Multi-Platinum composer, songwriter, arranger and record producer. Biography Boban Apostolov was born in 1984 in Yugoslavia. Aidan Cassar (born 17 December 1999), known professionally as Aidan, is a Maltese singer and songwriter. Career In 2018 he competed in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with Dai Laga. Afterwards, he participated in the ''X Factor Malta''. In 2019 he represented Malta in the OGAE Song Contest 2019 with the song "The Feeling". Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was the eighth edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Minsk, Belarus. It was held on 20 November 2010. The contest was won by Vladimir Arzumanyan from Armenia with the song Mama. This gave Armenia its first Junior Eurovision victory and its first victory in any Eurovision contest. Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 was the seventh edition of the annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest and took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was scheduled for 21 November 2009. 13 countries were confirmed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to compete in the contest. The contest was won by Ralf Mackenbach for the Netherlands with the song "Click Clack". At the age of 14, he was the oldest person to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in its seven-year history. San Marino participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, held in Lisbon, Portugal. The Sammarinese national broadcaster Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino (SMRTV) partnered with the London-based company 1in360 to stage an online search for their entrant, marking the first time the nation did not select their representative internally.
