Ecaterina Andronescu
Ecaterina Andronescu (; born 7 April 1948) is a Romanian engineer, professor, and politician. A member of the Social Democratic Party (Romania), Social Democratic Party (PSD), she sat in the Chamber of Deputies (Romania), Romanian Chamber of Deputies from 1996 to 2008, representing Bucharest, and was a Senate of Romania, Senator from 2008 until 2020, for the same city. In the Adrian Năstase First Năstase cabinet, cabinet, she was Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation (Romania), Education Minister from 2000 until June 2003. Virgil Bărbuceanu (20 April 1927 – October 2004) was a Romanian equestrian. He then joined the Army Equestrian Club in Bucharest and later served as colonel in the Romanian Army. In 1986, he founded the Equestrian Base in Piatra Neamț, which now bears his name. Dumitru Ghiață (22 September 1888 – 3 July 1972) was a Romanian landscape painter. He painted still life depictions of flowers and compositions in a simple, direct, sober coloured style, in a synthetic drawing recalling folk traditions ("Peasants at the Fair", "Winter at Târgoviște", "Autumn in the Woods"). Baba Anujka
Ana di Pištonja (née Drakšin or Draxin, but better known as Baba Anujka, sr-cyr, Баба Анујка; 1838 – 1 September 1938) was an accomplished amateur chemist and a convicted serial killer from the village of Vladimirovac, Yugoslavia (modern Serbia). She poisoned at least 50 people and possibly as many as 150 in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was apprehended in 1928 at age 90 and sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1929 as an accomplice in two murders. She was released due to old age after spending eight years in prison. Early life and marriage Data is scarce and unreliable about Anujka's early life. According to some sources, she was born in 1838 in Romania to a rich cattleman and moved to Vladimirovac in the Banat Military Frontier province of the Austrian Empire around 1849. Dumitru Berciu (27 January 1907, Bobaița, Mehedinți – 1 July 1998, Bucharest) was a Romanian historian and archaeologist, honorary member of the Romanian Academy. He conducted research in South-Eastern and Central Europe, focusing on Geto-Dacians, Thracians and Celts. Dumitru Berciu was governor of National Bank of Romania between 1934 and 1944 and the director of the Romanian Institute of Thracology in Bucharest after 1948. Later in his career, he also focused on the Neolithic and Chalcolithic periods in the Balkans. He is known for his contribution to the development of absolute chronology of prehistoric settlements in the Balkans (Romania and Bulgaria). He was a modern Maecenas for the Romanian culture.
