Malibu Shark Attack
''Malibu Shark Attack'' (a.k.a. ''Mega Shark of Malibu'') is a 2009 TV film, directed by David Lister and produced for the Syfy channel. It is the 19th film in the ''Maneater Series''. Plot Heather (Peta Wilson) is the head-lifeguard on a Malibu beach, alongside her ex-boyfriend Chavez (Warren Christie), Doug (Remi Broadway) and Barb (Sonya Salomaa). Also on the beach are Jenny (Chelan Simmons), a teenage girl who is reluctantly cleaning the beach for community service after she got caught shoplifting, and Bryan (Nicholas G. Cooper), Barb's boyfriend who proposes to her. Meanwhile, a tremor unleashes a group of Living fossil goblin sharks who begin to devour swimmers along the beach. David Lister (director)
David Lister is a South African-born film and television director, now residing in Australia. David Lister grew up on a farm in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa. He trained as a painter and sculptor in Pretoria before being employed as a scene painter, set designer and head of the props department at the Performing Arts Council in Transvaal (province), Transvaal. After a brief period as a documentary cameraman at SABC TV, he departed to the UK and studied at the London Film School 1972–1974. ''Maneater Series'' is the name, logo and line look given to a series of made-for-television natural horror films on DVD produced by RHI Entertainment for the Syfy Channel, and distributed by Vivendi Entertainment. The Maneater Series logo and line look were created under the direction of Danny Tubbs, the executive director of creative services of Vivendi Entertainment. The deal, made in October 2006, stipulated that the first ten films would premiere on the US-based channel in 2007, but due to a pre-licensing agreement, the first six actually premiered in Canada on the video on demand channel Movie Central on Demand.
