Malcolm Robertson (diplomat)
Sir Malcolm Arnold Robertson (2 September 1877 – 23 April 1951) was a British diplomat and politician. He was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary in Argentina in 1925, and became Ambassador to Argentina from 1927 to 1929. Biography Robertson entered the Civil Service after passing competitive examinations in December 1898, being appointed a clerk on the establishment of Her Majesty's Diplomatic Service on 3 January 1899. He rose steadily through the ranks, being appointed Acting Third Secretary on 1 January 1903, Second Secretary on 23 November 1905, and First Secretary on 23 November 1912. Robertson served as chargΓ© d'affaires at Rio de Janeiro, and on 3 June 1915 was appointed a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. In 1917 he was first secretary of the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., where in March his engagement to Gladys Ingalls, daughter of railroad magnate Melville E. Ingalls, was announced. Malcolm Robertson (footballer)
Malcolm Robertson (7 July 1951 – 18 August 2010) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left winger. He made his mark playing for Penicuik Athletic when he appeared in the 1970 Scottish Junior Cup Final. He then moved to Raith Rovers, scoring 53 goals in 140 league appearances for the Kirkcaldy side. Robertson went on to play for Ayr United, before Hearts signed him for a Β£25,000 fee in 1977. Hearts were battling with Ayr against relegation, but Robertson was sent off in a decisive match between the two teams. Hearts were a yo-yo club in the late 1970s and early 1980s; Robertson helped the club gain promotion back to the Premier Division in 1978 and 1980. Robertson left Hearts in 1981 to play in Canada for Toronto Blizzard. Malcolm Robertson (rower)
Malcolm Robertson is an Australian former lightweight rower. He was an Australian national champion and won two bronze medals at World Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing Robertson was educated at Geelong College where he took up rowing. In 1975 in that school's first VIII he won the national schoolboy eight title at the Australian Rowing Championships. Robertson joined Melbourne's Mercantile Rowing Club in 1976 from where he did his senior club rowing. Victorian state representation first came for Robertson in the 1975 youth eight which contested and won the Noel Wilkinson Trophy at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. Robertson made the 1987 Victorian men's lightweight four competing for the Penrith Cup at the Interstate Regatta. He contested further Penrith Cups for Victoria in 1988 and 1990, achieving victories in both years. In Mercantile colours he raced in a junior eight at the 1976 Australian Rowing Championships finishing second. ...
