Malcolm Xavier Griffin (born August 10, 1991) is an American professional basketball player who last played for SLAC of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Standing at 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in), he plays at the point guard and shooting guard positions. After two years at Toledo and two years at Fresno Pacific he played professional basketball in Morocco, Tunisia, Latvia, Greece, Russia and Israel. High school career Griffin played high school basketball at Hyde Park Career Academy at Chicago, Illinois. He led his team to a 27–5 mark as a senior and averaging 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds per game. Griffin also earned South MVP honors in the Chicago Classic All-Star Game, scoring 28 points in just 13 minutes of action. Seydou Legacy Athlétique Club, commonly known as SLAC, is a Guinean basketball team from Conakry. The team plays in the Ligue 1, as well as in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) as of the 2022 season. SLAC has won the Ligue 1 championship six times in history. The Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Big Ten Conference. The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. The Midwest Professional Basketball Association (MPBA) was a professional men's basketball league that began play in January 2015.
