Malcolm Clarke (zoologist)
Malcolm Roy Clarke (24 October 1930 – 10 May 2013) was a British marine biologist. He is most well known for his extensive work on cephalopods and whales. Career Clarke did his National Service in the Royal Army Medical Corps from 1948 to 1950. He founded the Cephalopod International Advisory Council, serving time its Secretary and President. Malcolm Clarke (composer)
Malcolm Clarke (17 January 1943 – 11 December 2003) was a British composer and experimental electronic musician. He was a member of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, which was based in Maida Vale, London, for 25 years from 1969 to 1994. Biography Clarke proved somewhat controversial when he joined the Workshop, due to his view that radiophonic music should be, in his words, "fine art," a philosophy that was not shared by other workshop members at the time. Clarke composed the incidental music for the ''Doctor Who'' serial ''The Sea Devils'' (1972); it was the second score that the Radiophonic Workshop provided for the series. Clarke produced the music for this serial on the Radiophonic Workshop's EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer. The score was experimental, unusual and controversial for ''Doctor Who'' at the time, with producer Barry Letts insisting that substantial edits be made for the finished programme. Malcolm Clarke is an English documentary film maker. He began his career at the BBC, directing everything from the nightly news and documentaries, to game shows and music programming. He is now working for ARTeFACT Entertainment, a media company located in Shanghai, China, founded by Chinese producer Han Yi. Background He left the BBC in 1975 and worked for Granada TV, Thames TV, and London Weekend TV. During his time at Granada TV, he worked on '' So It Goes'', a music live performance and interview show at the time where he got to work on The Sex Pistols’ first live performance in 1976.
