Malay Pop
Pop Malay is a pop rock music genre influenced by Malay rhythms. There are two Pop Malay streams including the classification which is popular in Malaysia and the other is in Indonesia. In Indonesia early, Malay pop was popular in the mid-2000s which was pioneered by ST12. Until now, there have been many popular music groups with this genre. Those that managed to penetrate the domestic and international markets included ST12, Wali, Kangen Band, Armada, Radja, Hijau Daun, Dadali, Repvblik, Demeises, and others. The success of the Malay Pop genre in dominating the market share in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei in general has also changed the color of the arrangements of Pop genre music groups which were originally popular. Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Originating in the late 1950s as an alternative to normal rock and roll, early pop rock was influenced by the beat, arrangements, and original style of rock and roll (and sometimes doo-wop). It may be viewed as a distinct genre field rather than music that overlaps with pop and rock. The detractors of pop rock often deride it as a slick, commercial product and less authentic than rock music. Radja (band)
Radja is an Indonesian rock band. History Radja formed in Banjarmasin, Indonesia on 17 March 1999 and originally consisted of brothers Ian Kasela (vocals) and Moldy Kusnadi (guitar), as well drummer Adit Taher, and bassist Shuma. In their early days, the band performed in exchange for Nasi Bungkus, a humble Indonesian rice dish, at local cafes. Their name is a form of raja, meaning "king". In 2001, the band debuted with ''Lepas Masa Lalu''. Unfortunately, due to their label's failure to properly market the album, it never gained any traction and was overall considered a flop. Shuma and Adit left the band not long after and were replaced with bassist Indra Riwayat and drummer Seno Wilbowo. Their second album, ''Manusia Biasa'', sold only 60,000 copies when it was released in 2003. ST12
ST12 is an Indonesian band formed in Bandung, West Java in 20 January 2004. The group was formed by Ilham Febry a.k.a. Pepep (drummer), Dedy Sudrajat alias Pepeng (guitarist), Charly van Houten a.k.a. Charly (vocalist), and Iman Rush (guitarist). ST12 name stands for ''Jl. Stasiun Timur No. 12'', which was the band's headquarters. As of 2010, ST12 had produced 5 albums. History ST12 was officially formed on January 20, 2004, although its members had long been in the music world. Earlier, they were not known to each other. They often met in the rental studio on Jl.
