Malawi National Cricket Team
The Malawian national cricket team is the men's team that represents Malawi in international cricket. History Malawi was previously a member of the East and Central Africa Cricket Conference, which was a member of the ICC from 1989 to 2003 and fielded the East and Central Africa cricket team in the ICC Trophy. From the 1970s Malawi played regular international tournaments against other East and Central African teams, and occasionally touring teams from England. In 2002 Malawi participated in the Africa Cup in which 10 nations took part. They came last in the group, losing all 4 matches. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2003 and an associate member in 2017. ICC Trophy
The ICC World Cup Qualifier (previously called the ICC Trophy and officially known as the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier) is a One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament that serves as the culmination of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the Cricket World Cup. It is usually played in the year before the World Cup. Although the tournament historically has not maintained a regular or identifiable format, a final qualification event awarding berths in the event proper has been a regular feature of the ICC Cricket World Cup since 1979. Rwanda Cricket Stadium, also known as Kicukiro Oval, is a cricket ground in Kigali, Rwanda. The stadium is officially titled the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium. The ground is Rwanda's first dedicated international cricket ground and it quickly became a prominent ground in African cricket. History In August 2011, the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation was formed as a charity, run on a not for profit basis, with the aim of building and managing the first ever dedicated international cricket ground in Rwanda. The ground was completed in March 2017. It is located on a site on the edge of Kigali, Rwanda's capital. The Lesotho national cricket team is the team that represents Lesotho in international cricket. 2019 T20 Kwacha Cup
The 2019 T20 Kwacha Cup was a men's Twenty20 International/women's Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket event between the men's and women's national cricket teams of Malawi and Mozambique. Both the men's and women's series consisted of seven T20I matches played between 6 and 10 November 2019 in Blantyre and Lilongwe, Malawi. The venue for the first four men's T20I matches was the Lilongwe Golf Club in Lilongwe, and these were followed by two matches at Indian Sports Club and one match at Saint Andrews International High School in Blantyre. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019.
