Malavan Bandar Anzali Football Club ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال ملوان بندر انزلى, ''Bashgah-e Futbal-e Milâvan Bendâr Anzeli'') is an Iranian football club based in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran. It currently won Iran's second football league, the Azadegan League and came back to Persian Gulf Pro League after they were relegated in 2015–16 season. The team is known to have some of the most passionate fans in Iranian football, and is one of the successful teams that is not based in Tehran. This team is one of the most successful Iranian teams in the Hazfi Cup. Malavan has reached the Hazfi Cup final 7 times and has 3 titles. The club forms the football part of the multisport Malavan Sport and Cultural Club. Malavan was previously owned by the Iranian Navy. Pejman Nouri ( fa, پژمان نوری; born July 13, 1980 in Rezvanshahr, Iran) is a retired Iranian football player, who played and captains for Azadegan League side Khooneh Be Khooneh in the midfield position. Maziar Zare Eshghdoost ( fa, مازیار زارع عشقدوست, born 22 December 1984 in Bandar Anzali, Iran) is an Iranian former football player and current coach. He was a right-footed defensive midfielder. He is dubbed as ''The New Ghayeghran'' after the late Sirous Ghayeghran, Malavan's legend and also wore the coveted number 9 shirt. Club career He Played 4 seasons for Malavan and moved to Persepolis in the summer of 2008 and played in AFC Champions League for the team and was the regular player for the team which he took the penalties. 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League
The 2015–16 Persian Gulf Pro League (formerly known as Iran Pro League) was the 33rd season of Iran's Football League and 15th as Persian Gulf Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Sepahan were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2014–15 Persian Gulf Cup and two new teams promoted from the 2014–15 Azadegan League: Siah Jamegan and Esteghlal Ahvaz. The league started on 30 July 2015 and ended on 13 May 2016. Esteghlal Khuzestan won the Pro League title for the first time in their history (total first Iranian title). Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions. The IRIFF decided to award one of Iran's AFC Champions League spots to the winner of the Hazfi Cup, and since then, the winners of Hazfi Cup have always been allocated a spot in the AFC Champions League. Malavan Sport and Cultural Club is an Iranian multisport club based in Bandar Anzali, Iran. Bandar Anzali with 150,000 citizens has 64 sport clubs with 11,000 male and female athletes. It was established by Marshal Karim Rastegari in 1969 under the supervision of the Iranian Navy and to begin with only had a football team which still exists today as Malavan Football Club. The Azadegan League ( fa, ليگ آزادگان, ''Lig-e Âzâdegân''), also known as League 1 ( fa, لیگ یک, ''Lig-e Yek''), is the second highest division of professional football in Iran. It was the top-level football league in Iran from its foundation in 1991 until 2001, when the Persian Gulf Pro League was established. Each year, the top finishing teams in the Azadegan League are promoted to the Persian Gulf Pro League, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to League 2. Arash Afshin ( fa, آرش افشین, born January 21, 1990) is an Iranian footballer. He is a former player of Iran national team and under-23 team. Club career Afshin started his senior career at Foolad. In winter 2012, he was linked to Lille but move was not done. On 1 July 2013, he joined Sepahan on a one-year contract. In December 2013, he terminated his contract with Sepahan to join Foolad again. Mohammad Mayeli Kohan ( fa, محمد مایلی کهن, born 5 June 1953) is a retired Iranian football player and a current coach. He recently managed Malavan in Azadegan League.
