Malator
Malator is a house in Druidston, Pembrokeshire, Wales, built in the Earth house architectural style. It was built for, and owned by, former Member of Parliament Bob Marshall-Andrews. The architectural firm who designed the building was Future Systems. Malator has appeared on television series such as the More4 programme ''Homes by the Sea'', and has been received positively by critics with ''Architectural Digest'' listing it as one of the most innovative houses of the 20th century. Description Malator is an Earth house, built with an exterior glass wall facing Druidston Haven and looking out over St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire. It is sunk into the ground to have a minimal impact on the landscape. Inside, the building has an open-plan format in a style compared to that of a medieval hall. Bob Marshall-Andrews
Robert Graham Marshall-Andrews KC (born 10 April 1944) is a British barrister, author, and retired politician, who was the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Medway from 1997 to 2010. He defected from his former party at the 2017 general election and endorsed the Liberal Democrats. Early life and career Marshall-Andrews attended Mill Hill School before attending Bristol University where he read Law and was a resident of Wills Hall. He has prosecuted and defended most forms of serious crime and serious criminals, and specialises in commercial fraud. He is described in ''Chambers Legal Directory'' as "superb at commanding the attention of the jury" and "well prepared ..proves brilliant in presentation". Druidston
Druidston is a hamlet within the community of Nolton and Roch on the St Brides Bay coast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. Druidston Cross is an eastern outlier of the hamlet. The coast is 1/2 mile to the west where cliffs up to 80m in height overlook a rocky shore platform and the sandy beach of Druidston Haven which is popular with swimmers and surfers. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path which has since 2012 formed a part of the longer Wales Coast Path passes north - south along the cliff tops. Future Systems
Future Systems was a London-based architecture, architectural and design practice, formerly headed by Directors Jan Kaplický and Amanda Levete. Future Systems was founded by Kaplický and David Nixon after working with Denys Lasdun, Norman Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, and Richard Rogers in 1979. The work of Future Systems can be classified within the British high-tech architects as either bionic architecture or amorphous, organic shapes sometimes referred to as "blobitecture". Ivan Margolius
Ivan Margolius (born 27 February 1947) is an author, architect and propagator of Czech culture and technology. Life Margolius was born in Prague, son of JUDr Rudolf Margolius, Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade, and Heda Margolius Kovály, Czech writer and translator, both parents being Holocaust survivors. He attended primary and secondary schools there and started to study architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Margolius left Czechoslovakia in 1966 because of political persecution of his family. He settled in the United Kingdom where he became a naturalized citizen in 1973 and where he completed his architectural studies at the Polytechnic of Central London.
