Makoma
Makoma is a Christianity, Christian, pop music, pop, R&B and dance music, dance musical group originating from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) and established in the Netherlands. It is made up of 6 siblings (3 brothers and 3 sisters): Nathalie Makoma, Annie Makoma, Pengani Makoma, Tutala Makoma, Duma Makoma, Martin Makoma and a non-family member, Patrick Badine. They mainly sing in Lingala language, Lingala and in French language, French, Dutch language, Dutch and German language, German. The singer Nathalie Makoma left the group in 2004 and has her solo career after ending as runner-up during the Dutch ''Idols 4'' in 2007-2008. In the final she sang with her brothers and sisters "Ola Olé", a definitive hit of the Makoma band. Makoma were back with a new album in 2012 called ''Evolution'' containing 10 new songs. Nathalie Makoma
Nathalie Makoma (born February 24, 1982), is a Congolese Dutch singer-songwriter. She was the lead singer for the group Makoma and she later embarked on a solo musical career on her own. She took part in the Dutch '' Idols'' singing competition in its fourth season reaching the final and finishing as runner-up to Nikki Kerkhof. As a result, she was signed to Sony BMG. She also took part in Dutch ''Dancing With the Stars'' coming second (2009), in ''De Mattheus Masterclass''. Career In Nouveau Testament / Makoma Nathalie Makoma started singing with her family group in 1993 when the band was known as "Nouveau Testament". Kora Awards
The KORA All Africa Music Awards are music awards given annually for musical achievement in sub-Saharan Africa. The awards were founded in 1994 by Benin born businessman, Ernest Adjovi, after a discussion in Namibia with the country's President Hage Geingob. The award is named after the kora, a West African plucked chordophone. The awards have been subject to several postponements since 1994 with a variety of reasons given. Problems have arisen with contracts signed, large sums of monies have been paid and the event postponed. In 2011 Adjovi was detained by the Nigerian Police Force with allegations he defrauded three Nigerian bodies. In 2008 Adjovi allegedly accepted S2.5 million for the 2008 Awards to be hosted by the Cross River State Government. He later allegedly struck an agreement with the Lagos State Government for US$7.5 million but the awards were not staged until 2010 in Burkina Faso. Nikki Gouman (also known as Nikki Nola; born 21 December 1983) is a Dutch singer and the winner of the fourth series of Idols, the Dutch variant on Pop Idol. On the first of March 2008 she won the singing contest with 62% of all the votes from the other finalist Nathalie Makoma . Her single "Perfect Day" will also be released in the rest of Europe as her European debut single. Evolution is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations.
